More than $100 but less than $200? A kit will include pre-cut brass, styrene and 16 springs for the hinges as well as about 30 laser cut parts and 5 cast resin parts . Anyone who wants an assembled key should PM me.

My initial target was for 10 kits. One is already spoken for. I will extend the run if there is sufficient response (and if I can afford it.)

I will not accept pre-orders. I'm just not comfortable taking anyone's money when I don't have anything to ship.

Cheers,

JM

Amazing job :love I've always loved this prop and you've done it better than the original. You should be very proud! This is my youngest son who's 4 favorite movie and I would love to add this to his collection. He already has an Indy Golden Idol ... although I would have to hold onto it for him until he's old enough :love Consider me very interested.

Your finished key is absolutly amazing.
As batman72 said: You can be very proud.

Are the kits unpainted or painted and just unassembled?
How much for a painted but not build together kit?

Again supreme work.

Status Update:

Well, here it is mid-June. Can I just say that I hate moving? The masters to the key were lost or destroyed in the move and I have been spending the last few weeks rebuilding everything.

The good news is that starting fresh has allowed me to make some improvements and I know that the final product will be worth the wait.

Thank you everyone for your indulgence,

Sorry to hear that all that work was lost. I hope the rest of your stuff survived the move!

You have such a great attitude in the face of adversity. I'm really looking forward to seeing your progress on Version 2.0 !

Commiserations and good luck with the new project. It looks like you're making the hex sections a little thinner this time, am I right?

Edit: d'oh, OCTAGONAL bodies (with atomic monsters...atomic SUPERMEN!) :)

Any news on this Jaded Monk ? I would be interested in an assembled key. Thanks :thumbsup

Re: Key to Hamunaptra (Status Update)

It looks great so far, and if the final version is at all affordable, then I would love to get one.

Re: Key to Hamunaptra (Status Update)

I, also, would be interested in obtaining one of these if the price is within my means.

Re: Key to Hamunaptra (Status Update)

Wow, time flies when you aren't having any fun!

I am still working on a production run. I am almost finished with one unit that was promised to someone who discovered the project a few months ago through Youtube. I am pretty sure I have found a practical way to make multiples. The biggest delay has been my own perfectionism. I will complete a part and after only a day or two I will sit down to work on something else and decide "I can do better." Anyone else do that? Thus, I have been re-re-engineering the key several times over.

I am still planning a short run of completed Keys--someday--, but I have decided that kits are just not practical. Apart from opening myself up to recasters, assembly is just enough of a !@#$% that I don't want to be responsible for anyone else's migraines.

At this point, I am not sure when the keys are going to be available. I will only be offering them on the RPF and will get in touch with those members that contacted me at the start of the project. If y'all are still interested.

Once I have reliable molds, more laser cut pieces, and a better process I might decide to offer a 2nd run. Time will tell.

Watch this spot!

Cheers, JM
