Kandy Apple Red Ironman Mark XLV (45) 3D Printed Build Thread

I completed the back flaps, and mocked them up to see how they fit. I have to say they're looking great!

Figured I'd take a nice close up to show off the clean lines, nothing to hide :cool

Here's another 180deg video since I think these are pretty cool.

Coming Soon

I'm still working on the upper arm pieces, haven't had as much time lately as I'd like, but they will be the next completed parts. I've also gotten the abs printed (front and rear) so they will be coming pretty soon. Oh and I still need to start that mannequin so I can start mocking the suit up better... Not.Enough.Time.

Great work! I’m currently working on the same file and was curious about how you attached the flaps?

Another long hiatus it doesn't look like much but progress in the photos but previously the pieces that go between the shoulders and the neck weren't rigged up or wearable. They are now fully rigged, not going to lie be this was a ton of work to figure out and align all these pieces in a wearable fashion.

I haven't attached them yet. In my mind I'm thinking a piece of sheet metal attached to a small stepper motor inside the armor, or maybe a hinge and cable attached to the motor, not sure.

Testing mobility and fitment was a smashing success. When I started this I never thought rigging was going to be the biggest challenge but it's looking like it really is. We'll see when I get to electronics.

Finished the abs of my suit today. Starting work on the lower back now. Once it's done I can rig up the mid section.
