Hi there, I am brand new to this. I am from New Zealand and would really like it if someone could put up the individual files for Ironman in a PDF files. The ones at 4share are not working for me and I just want to be able to get each part one at a time with a reference to what the finished piece looks like. Super keen to make the suit but I am having real trouble finding what I need to get started. I am hopeless at downloading the converters etc that I need, can someone make this easy for me please. Many thanks. Randomguy.

Hi RG and welcome to the RPF :thumbsup
If 4shared isn't working for you and you wish to leave that alone (for now),try JF Custom's foam files thread. You will find plenty to get started with, along with lots of tips and tricks for foam building.Good luck and above all: have fun :popcorn

Hi is there some trick or thing I could you to make angular cut to foam?

Hi Psy and welcome :cool
What I do is place a ruler several milimeters from the edge where the angle should be,make a pass with the knife, then hold the knife at the angle I need to work towards the bottom of that edge.So in my mind,I try to line up the tip of my knife with the bottom of the edge, and make several diagonal passes until the scrap releases.Whatever uneven bits are left,I 'sand' with the knife by moving it flat over the foam edge.
I hope that helps

Alternatively you could get yourself an xacto knife that can be set to whichever angle you need.

Hi George, thanks for the reply. I am stuck because I am on a Mac and I need PDF files. I Have found a helmet to make but I would really like a suit set as well. Any links would be very much appreciated.

thank you guys I will use both advice...xacto knife + metal ruler... If I could cut also yoga mat like that...I will be more than satisfied... xD

Randomguy: try Laellee's "What pepakura files would you like? Redux" thread and post a request with clear information, enough details and preferably pictures as well.He might be able to help.

Foam building question:
I've just finished a Classic Iron Man thigh. The height is fine, but the widt/depth is too much. How do I 'trim' the thigh so that it fits better?
Thank you in advance for the advise.

Had the same problem with my cyberman. I'd recommend making a template on regular printer paper (from the original pep file). And then putting the paper one together as you would the final foam piece. Do it with tape and then make small adjustments, overlap a little more here or there until it's just right. Once you have it fitting correctly, just measure the difference between the original template edge and what is overlapping. This will tell you how much you should trim.

Err on the side of caution with the foam, you can always trim more off. But this will get you pretty close.

What I mean is, the software originally rotated around PC-based software. MAC users have suffered forevever, between finding emulators, using Wine ( not the drink), and then wrestling with PDFs for scale. Pepakura software is built for PC software.

Now, what you are asking, there are a lot of people that will help (me included). BUT, everything you will get will be PDO based. Best thing you can do? Find someone with a PC that can print everything out for you.

Second best? Still find someone with a PC that can scale armor/helmets/whatever for you in Pepakura, and then export it to you. Just my thoughts. :)
