Jazwares Primalux Vader Costume

I can't decide if it's worth getting one and just working up a new replacement dome with a couple of adjustments. I think with that and metal and lens upgrades, I could live with it.

This is a nice helmet for the price...but is it a must have for me?No.The biggest problem is the space...buying all these nice looking cheaper stuff props needs so much extra space. Its really a shame but my office looks like a toystore.;)

I agree. I have 4 Vader buckets now... and I really LIKE this one, even with the wide dome strip... which really doesn't look BAD, it's just not ACCURATE.

This is an idealized ESB/ROTJ helmet. The face looks almost spot on, and they "fixed" the warped neck from the OT.

I think I've figured out what it is... beyond a conversation display piece in your man cave, this is a Trooping helmet. You leave your nice $1000+ fiberglass Vader helmet with screen used lineage at home, and you wear THIS to parties and cons instead. It's lightweight, it looks the part, it shines up nicely with some Armor-all, and you don't panic if it gets scratched or scraped. And you can get it for LESS THAN $100 U.S.

Go buy it, go buy it right now.

It's awesome. Best inexpensive Vader helmet ever. A billion times better than Don Post Classic Action or Rubies, both of which I love. Side profile is dead on. Strip is not as bad in person, but man if they had just got that right. No silver nose insert. Great piece. Endless modding possibilities. Will be buying a second.

As was mentioned previously, these are on sale on Amazon for $79.00! For $79.00 it's a no-brainer!

I ordered one 2 days ago, and it showed up today. Here are some "quick and dirty" pics, some next to my modified Rubies Supreme.

Some metal tusks, metal screen in the mouth and chin, and better lenses would really make this thing great for the $.

Okay...okay. i can't take the pressure anymore. The reviews, the discounted price, the free shipping...ugh. Those pics pushed me over the edge. My wife is going to be pissed since I just bought the Disney c3po last week. No hiding this box when it shows up. Going to need one of you to explain this to her.

Makes me upset to realize that a LICENSED Star Wars costume piece can look good AND be relatively inexpensive, yet there are a dearth of other options without paying the jacked up prices.

Here's hoping Jazwares gets to do a Stormtrooper and Fett helmet.

I was originally thinking about removing the plastic mouth mesh and replacing it with metal but then I thought since it unscrews maybe I’ll try painting it first with something like Alclad or Spaz Stix chrome and see if I like lIke the look of that before spending the money on metal mesh.
I’m trying to find a nice metal mesh, there’s a few on Etsy. Just need to make up my mind..

Plus I still need to purchase the helmet LOL

I always plan ahead..

Haven't received mine yet, but was thinking of hitting the mesh with a molotow pen. Are the tusks so off that metal ones will make a noticeable difference? I get plastic tusks on a $1k helmet would detract, but is the inverse applicable here? Just wondering.

Honestly I think if the original tusks were painted aluminum and slightly weathered for more realism they would work just fine considering this isn’t a $1000 lineage helmet.

I’ve been toying around with different methods of thickening the edge of the dome on this, and I think I finally figured out a method I’m happy with. From a cosplay website, I purchase some EVA foam triangular “dowels”. Using Scotch double sided clear tape (just to test), I stuck a length to the front edge of the dome. Im pretty pleased with how it looks. It adds virtually no weight as well. I may paint it with some gloss black acrylic paint to see if that helps it blend in some more. I first tried with some glossy black triangular silicone weather stripping, only to discover silicone and glossy plastic very much do not want to stick together.

Wicked idea

I can't get over how amazing that looks and how such a simple but ingenious idea makes it look higher end. Any chance for a color pic and link to what you purchased?
