Jazwares Primalux Vader Costume

Mine arrived today from Halloween Costumes . com, but right out of the box, I noticed this......... So back it goes for a replacement, other tusk was nowhere to be found, new one should be here by the 4th of October they said :)

That thick center ridge on the dome is probably the worst part but when viewed overall with the entire helmet it’s not really too bad.

I received my JW Vader helmet on Saturday and took some very quick and very dirty photos of it. My fiberglass Efx Limited helmet is in storage but I had an Efx PCR project helmet handy for size comparison.

For $90 I think it’s instantly display ready but if you wanted to add new lenses, metal tusks, metal grills, and a new paint job I think this is a perfect base to make a really nice near-accurate Darth Vader helmet.

I’d love for someone to design and 3D print inserts that could be glued in on the inside of the dome front and bottom edge to thicken the dome outside lip like the real helmet.

The dome is molded in black plastic and the face mask is molded in gunmetal with the black parts painted on. Honestly because the 2-tone on the face mask is pretty good I might just primer and paint the dome to change the plastic look and keep the face mask as-is or possibly try a 2k clear coat on the face mask. Another option would be to see if I can remove the black paint from the face mask and re-paint the black parts to be sharper and more accurate. I have a spare set of lenses and tusks/grills are pretty easy to find.

Could someone throw an EFX dome on it, or even a Rubies to see what it looks like?

Thanks in advance.

This would be beyond epic for the price if they had not messed up the dome strip.
The dome strip is inaccurate but to me it only looks bad side-by-side with an accurate helmet. The dome strip on new JW helmet seems to look okay when the helmet is viewed by itself, meaning viewed solo it’s not so bad it’s distracting or ‘wrong looking’ to me.

I'm no expert on Vader costumes, but DAMN that looks good. And for the price? It makes me grateful I didn't bother with the Black Series version.

I caved and bought the full costume from Jazwares. It should arrive in December and I'll likely remake the body suit, cape and robes. Modify the armor, helmet (slightly), and electronics. It will be a great base to start from. I'll just need boots and new gloves if I upgrade it all.

I'm just trying to decide whether I want to make it wearable or if I want a lifesize display.

Ironically it looks like the strip just widens at the end. If that was as straight at the front as it is on top, man what a helmet for a price.

First mod to be done.

I caved on bought one. Should have just accepted I was going to and got it when it was on sale. Why did I wait? Because do I need another Vader helmet? Hell no. But it's just to good for the price...

I got this helmet today, and am not disappointed. Blows the Hasbro helmet out of the water. Would make a great costuming helmet. The dome attaches in very secure way (the twist-n-lock type).

Also, this is the first Vader helmet I’ve seen that manages to capture the feel of the OT Vader, but is also symmetrical. I always HATED the ROTS version, and I assumed it was just how off the symmetry made it look. This helmet proves it doesn’t have to.
