$250 USD is a great price for this height of a mannequin! The only problems is that the feet are not completely flat (he's up on his toes a little bit) and the support stand rod comes up through the heel of the right foot.

Which means, you have place a hole in the heel/sole of your right side Vader boot, or figure out a way to support the figure upright without using the stand (awkward when the feet are not flat).

What I did was take the angled part of fand placed a 4' pipe on the stub sticking up from the base. This is the piece that accepts the angled piece that goes into his calf.

Basically you have a 4' metal pole attached to the heavy metal flat base. Then you can simply have the pole go up the back of one of the legs and under his belt. He will go no where. No holes. To make it more secure and hidden I also zipped the back of his shin guard around the pole.

Was 1k. I lucked out and got it on sale for $700. Then it was gone. Then back for 1k.

I watched the assembly video for the Sideshow figure, and it has a pad that covers the abs of the mannequin (that the chest plate sits over)...

Did the original costumes feature this?

Or (sorry, Dave) did Prowse have a bit of a belly...!?

I watched the video and the pad was just to make the Vader mannequin a little more realistic. Putting a Vader costume even on the muscular Mannequin I use and posted earlier, is way to skinny. Vader looks off. The muscular mannequin gives a good, proportion based to build on. I tried on a regular mannequin and it was a nightmare. I have bulked up my muscle Vader twice and still not there. It need a third to match Prowse's measurements.

As we all know black is slimming, however it is also very unforgiving. I always thought Prowse maybe has the tiniest of a gut, barely, but if you Study Vader ESB and ROTJ Vader I think he has a very small gut in ROTJ. You likely would not even notice in a T shirt, but with that quilted suit and straps, it shows.

Plus he is getting on in years and we all like a cookie.

Well stated; couldn't agree more.

Mannequins just have weird proportions... My PH T-800 was made by "sculpting" with foam and duct tape!

There is serious money for someone who can make a David Prowse mannequin for a run at a good price.

I remember one was offered, but it was uber expensive.
