Jazwares Primalux Vader Costume

I found a video that shows all of the parts of the costume and being worn. Obviously this guy doesn’t have the ideal Vader build but I believe this video shows the potential of this kit on either a mannequin or on a Prowse sized person.

I appreciate it, I don’t plan on joining, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want something nice

My goal is to grab this suit, and slowly upgrade piece by piece down the road

Appr

You bet. I'm always on the lookout for solutions, so when potential members here locally ask where to get stuff I have an answer.

This is really tempting. Part of me wants to sell off one or two other pieces for this. It seems very high quality for the money.

So what is considered the ideal Vader build? I'm 6'1", 200 lbs. Wondering if I could pull it off with some boot inserts to gain a couple extra inches.

I think Vader is a very tough cosplay to pull off if the wearer is not the height and build of Dave Prowse.

I’m always shocked at just how HUGE the screen accurate Vader helmets are.

Most wearers end up looking like this guy:

This guy appears to have struggled with the suit…

So true. There are so many videos on YouTube of people putting on Vader cosplays - including this Jazwares one, and people are in the comments saying "The costume looks terrible! The helmet is ginormous! Looks like Space Balls!"

But they don't consider that maybe the costume itself is fine, but the wearer does not fill it out as they should.

That being said, I just purchased Psab's suit on the Junkyard. I'm 6'1" so I thiiiink I'll be able to pull it off but we'll see LOL!

It's like me complaining about my Boba Fett build on my mannequin to fit Bulloch's measurements, not my 5'3 self.

I just ordered the 8mm eva foam strips that Hecubus114 suggested. Has anyone added a gloss coat to the dome yet? If I testors gloss coat the dome, will it stick to eva foam? If I gloss the dome should I gloss the mask as well?

I realized I never posted this. Here is my first-time suit up with it.

I REALLY like it overall. I will say that the boxes definitely feel very plastic-y and cheap, but that's just from touch and from any small distance at all they look totally fine.
And it is a pain in the butt to attach the cape to the shoulders. I'm using velcro to get it to sit across the shoulders at the right spot.

But apart from a couple small gripes, I'm super happy with it, especially for the price!!

Could you swap out the electronics and put them into more accurate boxes?

Definitely! They just slide onto the belt so it'd be easy to get new boxes, or better yet, replace the whole belt.

Super awesome kit for the price! Very pleased with it! :)
If the timing wasn’t so bad I would have grabbed this for the 700 bucks.. can’t beat it
