Jazwares Primalux Vader Helmet-New addition to budget friendly Vader lids

Hello all. I just got the Jazwares Vader helmet and I am more than impressed. No, it's not the same quality as high end, but for $99 it is far superior to the Black Series which I actually am fond of for it's weirdness. The faceplate is a rigid plastic, while the dome is more of a vinyl feel. There is a slight mold release on top, but barely noticeable. The dome locks into place and while there is no padding, it is fitted with an adjustable hard-hat style band. It's quite light and comfy. Here are some comparison pics with what I have in my little collection. (Jazwares is on your right in the comparison pics)

Here it is alone:

And here it is next to my heavily modified DPCA from years ago:

Here it is with EFX:

To me, this is a great deal for the budget minded Vader helmet collector. It is truly full size and looks great.

The comparison between the eFx and Jazwares is amazing. They're both awesome and with a better dome on the jazware it would have been a great alternative for the price.

I finally was able to open mine out of the shipping box just to take a look. I haven't had a chance to open it up fully (we're unpacking from a move). Thus far it looks great! It's massive!

Edit: I got to take out out of the box. It's really nice for the price. The two tone paint scheme is decently done, though there are some flaws in the finish. The sculpt is really, really impressive and it's lightweight. The scale is a nice balance too.

The tusks are rubber or rubbery plastic, but likely easy to replace. The dome locking system is nice, but feels fragile. It could be reinforced but it far surpasses the cheap velcro many cheaper helmets use.

In all, for what you pay, I would recommend it. Even for an inexpensive display. With some modification it could honestly be a really, really killer piece, whether for trooping or display. I'm eager to get the full ensemble. It would look great as a lifesize statue with this on a mannequin.

Surprised I haven't seen more posts about this helmet, and modifying it, since it's been so well-received. Or perhaps I'm just not using the search engine effectively...

I have a question for anyone who has modded this helmet - the lenses are mounted from the front, but unlike the Rubies Supreme, sit on a sort of lip with holes for tabs in it (on the Rubies, the holes for the tabs were cut into the outline of the eye hole itself). Would it be sufficient to just dremel that "shelf" off and mount the lenses from behind? For the Rubies, I had to add depth to the eye sockets to make it look right, as they were too shallow. Are the Jazwares eye sockets deep enough as is??

Many thanks!

RRR
