Jackieisrockin's IM3 Iron Patriot Pepakura Files! V2 files coming soon!

well I got one kind of sanded down and smoothed out. needs a little more work. but I am going to cut out the front part of the shin and put a hinge on it so it can bend with my foot. I test fitted this out the way it is, and I have good mobility, I think I will have better mobility when I hinge it.
I know its not 100% screen accurate. but im happy with it.

im starting to wonder if im going to have this finished in time for Halloween. its going to be close ! still have to add filler and sand both thighs, some small attachments on the forearms, figure out the biceps pieces, hip pieces, neck piece, re-do the cannon in foam. and then ad lights and paint !

hey ive pretty much finished the whole suit (pep) ive body filled the legs and all but how exactly are the shin and thigh supposed to be connected to each other... it seems to have quiet a large opening and it doesnt seem so flush... ill see if i can get some pics ups so u know what im talking about

wolf, i havent tried my thighs on yet with the shins, but i have put them together to make sure they fit and line up, and they seem ok to me. ill try to get some pics up also.

here is the shins hinged. I think it works good. I probably wont get to work on anymore this weekend. but next will be to get the boots body filled and sanded. and then on to the thighs after that.

heres my progress. i got two weeks to finish it lol.
helmet is a bit too big, so i plan on doing a foam helmet after i finish the suit.
im trying to keep the suit slim with masculine proportions, v-taper, wide shoulders, slim shins but thick calves. So far its looking proportionately fine.

I didn't attached the shoulder canon because the battery is exhausted and it's kinda heavy. . .We also danced during the event! And with luck the only damaged part of the suit is the sole of the shoe/boots, but it's still fine and wearable. . .

Always great to see pics of your work. Not only is the finish on your suits beautiful, you get them fitting well too. Awesome.

with my friend in his mark 42

About a month ago I learned that my school's Homecoming theme is superheroes and that there would be a costume contest, so instead of finishing by Halloween I worked hard to get it done by today. Barely slept the last two days, but I got it mostly done! The only thing left now is the helmet and the various decals/smaller details.

Here it is:

here is an update on my patriot ! I want it done by next Thursday ! which is 6 days ! I worked hard tonight. got some more parts sanded and test fitted.
still need to finish sanding biceps, mount the elbows some how ...? any ideas? , pad the insides, paint, and install lights, and re-work the shoulder cannon.

well i got everything mounted, straped, buckled, bolted, etc., and padded on the insides. all parts are finished and sanded and primed. (exept for the neck, hip plates, and shoulder cannon, which will all be made from foam.) i even painted the indsides with a flat black, to make the fiberglass look a little cleaner.

tomorow i plan on starting the painting process. i plan on doing a coat of silver on everything, then a metallic blue, then the red and the black, and all the "decals" and if i still have time ill do the lights for the chest and eyes. which i bought white l.e.d. 12v light strips for those. ill use a rechargable little 12v battery pack for them

by the way i got 5 more days !!!

How would I scale the suit for someone 5 7" or 5 8" instead of 6 foot

I am 5 8" and scaled everything to 391. It was a little big though, but for the thickness of foam I used, some of it was pretty tight. Some will say that the scale won't be consistent throughout the body, but IMO if it's all the same scale it'll look good regardless. I'd say I have pretty regular proportions.

Im about 5'7 with a 32 waist, and I scaled everything at 387. and it all fits good ! I used fiberglass/pepakura, so if you using foam , which is thicker you may want to up the scale

my build so far, you cant see in the image but all the other pieces are completed and need the finer sanding and detail

i have to remote controls on the upper thighs , one controls the faceplate, and one controls the shoulder cannon. (so you might notice that is not screen accurate)
