And here's my girlfriend's Furiosa for good measure:

I've been working on an Immortan Joe costume for a few weeks now. This forum had been popping up in google searches & I've seen some very neat & informative things here. I decided after wearing my costume out for Halloween last night to finally join. ALL my free time up until today has been spent on the costume. I'm on a low budget & had little time, but I'd like to show you all what I came up with. The carapace is very solid & I had a great time building this, so I'll be adding more accurate details over time. Most of the material flourishes (medals, logos, etc.) were just mocked up from junkyard & thrift store materials, so if you would like to comment, please be gentle. Thanks again for such an amazingly informative thread.

The boots were sadly lacking in my effort. I honestly bought some chain, a few mismatched army surplus boots, some women's brown leather high boots for the shin guards, and then totally forgot about working the caps & chains until yesterday. I ALMOST did some metal tape quickies. It's on the list.

I sculpted the mask in clay, cast it in reinforced plaster of paris, then we had issues with our aluminum foundry technique. (originally for my & my buddy's Max facecage, the foundry took up a LOT of time). I ended up sculpting a makeshift mask out of celluclay/ PoP Thursday night. It hadn't cured entirely, so it basically self destructed over the night. Because of issues with the material, the mask had to be MUCH thicker/bigger than my sculpt, & the vent attachments had to be rigged with an old respirator mask at the last minute.
On the plus side, I got a lot of laughs from bartenders when I asked for a straw with my pints! Here's a goofy pic:

Unfortunately, this is the best photo I got last night. It was early on, so I hadn't cinched up the mask, I'm missing hoses, & biceps, etc, but I think the lack of accuracy is made up with grit & attitude... not to mention I'm physically more 'accurately built' than some of you guys. (If that's not a backhanded compliment, what is?) Ha ha!IMG_4522 2.jpg

Hi everyone, I've been a lurker on here since mid-September putting my Immortan Joe costume together. I wanted to say Thank You to everyone here for all the tips and inspiration!
Mask was from Amazon, where I cut it out along the jawline, reattached to give myself the ability to talk, then painted it
Armor was .030 PETG molded over a cheap set of Roman armor (found I needed a heat gun over 500 degrees to get good definition)
Air filter items were 3D printed from a design I found here
For the chest medals I opted for actual auto emblems I picked up at a swap meet.

Thanks again everyone!

I love the NOVA emblem. Early on my buddy & I were going to rig some fake intakes, exhaust pipes & a fake turret to his old Chevy Nova, but we couldn't find the title to register it!

Thanks to all ahead of me that put so much info up on here about the process. I plan on adding any unique methodology I did not already read once I get some downtime.
Pics when I get back home.
