Hey guys. Just wanted to share about my Immortan rebuild. I used this thread, and a few others for guidlines on a rebuild. Even asked a few people for some tips directly, as well as some gear to help out with the build (logan74k) . To kinda go back a bit, I made an Immortan cosplay for this past Dragon*Con. It was my first build, and i made it in just under a month. I didn't know about RPF, or Shapeways at the time. In my honest opinion, the build was a wreck. Look "ok", but compared to every other Joe's (who all were fantastic), it was like a cheap bootleg version.
After Dragon*con, I knew i wanted to rebuild it. Everyone there told me about the RPF, and I looked into it. I started rebuilding the costume in January, and decided to take my time with it, trying to be as screen accurate as possible. I referenced RPF daily, used Shapeways to 3d print parts, and experimented in several areas, like stitching leather, and working with all types of worbla.
My main goal was to be done by Dragon*Con 2016, but there was a little local con in Birmingham I wanted to wear it to. So i doubled up my time building, and was able to finish 90% of it for the local con. I still have a few things i need to adjust and add to it, but i wanted to share how far I have come with it. I even won the con's cosplay contest with it. I've share most of these pics on several Mad Max groups I am in on Facebook, so if anyone has seen them on there already, I'm sorry for bombarding groups and sites with the pics.
