Rust oleum
Paint+primer? If it's not a paint/primer combo that's your problem, you need a primer first.

If it is a paint/primer combo, try roughing the surface of the metal with some sandpaper.

Also, if you're spraying it on all at once— try doing a light layer of paint (so all of it might not be covered) let it dry, then do another light layer, and another, and so on until it's completely covered.

Has anybody here been able to get Flickr's upload page to work in the last couple weeks? I just went to upload a picture to share here and it's still down. Last time I tried was liek 2 weeks ago.

I guess I'll give the attachment thing a shot. Here's my model for the web shooters. 25 pieces so far not including screws or the extra cartridges on the back of the wrist.

Here's a couple of screencaps from Tom Holland's screen test with Chris Evans. The hoodie doesn't look customized. If you look closely you can see that it has standard straight pockets. The gloves he uses here has gray accents around the palm.

Maybe at the time it wasn't, since it was just a screen test costume. The one seen in Homecoming is different, everything is basically tighter, the gloves are different too, and the logo is as well.

I agree. Oh well, at least we know for sure that they started out with a regular hoodie and just modified the pockets :lol

BTW, has anyone tried fading fabrics using bleach? I currently have a blue sweatshirt and pair of jogging pants but they're not as light as the one in the movie. Any advice?

I don't think so. I can't attach pictures right now, but the ribbed bottom hem part on the final version of the suit is attached in a way I've never seen on any other hoodie.

Finally got mine done!

The lenses move pretty well, not a ton but there's some expression which I like. In the video description is a link to all my 3d files.

I'm making my own homemade Spider-Man for a con coming up later this week. I wore the unfinished version for Halloween last week but I'm still making some final tweaks for the con. Pretty much the whole costume is from scratch. Hoodie, pants, and mask are all custom made. The shoes are modified black water shoes. I also modified a pair of gloves to closer match the on screen version. I included a few progress photos of the gloves themselves. I'll post some more pictures of the tweaked costume and some more progress pictures after the con.

Looks Great!
What did you use for the web shooters/gloves?

The gloves were red and black workout gloves (Contraband Black Label) from Amazon that I modified by spray painting the red logo black.

The web shooters are made from styrene that I picked up from a hobby shop in Studio City, CA called Kit Kraft. I designed a template, cut out each piece, and glued them together.
