Hellboy Good Samaritan Build

So I decided after making the last Pewter parts that I really wanted the Hammer to match. So I went ahead and did just that :p As you can see its starting to really come together. I only have 3 more moulds to make. Hopefully I can get at least another done before the weekend and maaaaaaybe finish them all off next week!

I only gave it a light polish, there is some pitting going on so I need to fine tune my temperatures to get a nice smooth finish but I'm still happy for a first try.

Next I would like to experiment with applying a patina to the Pewter parts as the Hammer and Trigger should be Brass. I haven't done anything like electroplating before so if anyone has some advice please do let me know. I did do a little Google and I think I need to plate them with Nickle and then Brass?

Next up is to sand the Casts.

Prime them.

Then a layer of Matt Black and some knolling :p

Finally a dry fit!

So next job is to drill and tap all the screw holes, then I will give it a coat of silver and then its final coat of Gunmetal before weathering. Once that is done I need to work on the electrics for the Bullets and Laser and finally put it together!

At this point I am pretty much ready to start taking orders, so if you're interested I have a interest thread already setup HERE

oh cool! that's a nice update indeed!
removing the center part of the mold with the rifling on it must not be easy!

That's what the wooden dowel is for, it helps keep the mould centred and once it's cast I can pull it out of the silicon so that's it's more flexible to remove

Things are moving fast now, I am now taking orders for the first 10 HERE

So today I got to do a good chunk of the finishing work. After I Primed and sprayed it Black I added a silver layer to the parts that are exposed to the elements.

Then I hit it a few times with a hammer o_O and sprayed a coating of mixed Black and Gunmetal. Once that was dry I went at it with some 0000 Wire Wool to bring up all the scuffs and worn edges.

I also gave the handle a faux wood effect following this video guide...

After that I drilled and tapped the holes and put it together!

I got one of the Bullets wired too, I still have a few more jobs to do. I need to wire the laser, that is activated by the trigger via a switch. I need to electroplate the Hammer, Side Catch and Trigger so they're Brass and finally I got myself a lovely chunk of Walnut to carve into a new Grip!

Extremely nice! really looking forward to get mine, although it will take me some time to be able to work on it myself :)

I haven't made much progress on my personal build these past few weeks as I have been working on orders, Now that there are a few in the wild I have had some feedback on improvements. The first of those I have just completed.

I got myself a desktop Lathe so that I can turn some Brass as the 3D resin printed bushings are a little too soft for the job. I completed my first set today and I'm quite happy with the results.

Turned to speck, drilled and tapped all on the Lathe :)
