Harry Potter free paper props - all movies and more!

Thanks, Annaleen. I have photos of some of my non-paper props at http://www.elkinspotter.com. It's my site for a walk-through replica of Diagon Alley that I built in my house two years ago. Ron's dress robes are in the gallery under "The Thrifty Witch." It was meant to represent the secondhand shop where Molly Weasley went, and I populated it with all kinds of odds and ends that didn't fit anywhere else -- Madam Rosmerta's sparkly shoes, Hagrid's mead tankard and umbrella, Celestina Warbeck's phonograph album, etc. Of course, now when I look at those pages, there are so many more things I wish I'd had time to do (or do better). For example, I just found a MUCH better fluffy pink vintage umbrella this summer, with a wooden handle instead of plastic. Of course, it's impossible to do everything perfectly, but it's also wonderful to give your all to a prop that has a special place in your heart. You clearly did that with your bag. :cheers

aha I had seen your site, that's where I encountered the owl treates! you did a wonderful job and even if you say that now you have more appropriate amterials, you worked with what you had at the time. any chance you have the broomstick guide scan? I really liked that. and so many of the other props!

Barney, I took the pocket for the bank book and made a pocket on the last page for deposit slips. I kinda like it.

is this any good, I only have a few bruses and such, but I tried. maybe until someone finds/does something better? I I read that gimp does not allow you to rotate brushes:/

I installed the display on the first floor of my house for Halloween 2009. It took up everything but the kitchen. When Halloween was over, I donated it to the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology for their Harry Potter event. After that, it traveled to a local zoo for display in 2010. I actually loved that setting -- it was in a greenhouse -- but the sets weren't really built for travel, and by the end of the season they had really taken a beating. I'm not sure how much the zoo was able to salvage. Fortunately I kept my favorite props, and hopefulhp has some of the rest.

Incidentally, I have not been able to find a US distributor for the star-embossed foil they used to line the boxes, though I was able to get a friend to bring me some back from Germany.

@Mewmar, I can give you the broomcare handbook art if you want, but it isn't screen accurate. It's just some text I foiled over a generic leather background and attached to a little address book. I needed something small that would fit into the zippered case.

for the foil, something that looks similar but in circles not starts is the nutella foil. you could buy one of the big ones and have the foil and eat the nutella.

Is there a foiling process I can use without having to spend $500 for a laminating machine? I think there were some postings about this earlier, but I'm sorry, I'm not remembering all the details. Something about printing with a laser and then an inkjet? But is there a foil product that could be applied with a light iron or something?

Unfortunately here in the states, Nutella gold seal is just plain :0( That would be great if it did have circles on it.

oh, only the small glass type here are plain glod foil, others have sort of dotted gold circle a little lighter thab the other gold. Haven't found a picture on the net, will scan it tomorrow as my mum is sleeping and the scanner is noisy. If I have extra ones, that are hopefully big enough, I could mail them to you. Do europeans here have this foil or not, I'm curious.

This is the link to the German foil supplier. It's the only place I've ever seen it sold online, and it took me months to hunt it down (after harassing the manufacturer in China). They do ship to the US, but the costs are scary expensive.
