Harry Potter free paper props - all movies and more!

@Lukeforester- heres an easier butterbeer recipe
8 ounces cream soda
1/2 cup butterscotch ice cream syrup
1/2 of a tablespoon of butter

Put the butter and butterscotch in the microwave for a minute on high. Make sure the butter is completely melted. Cool mixture in fridge for a minute, then pour in the cream soda and your done! Careful, it foams/bubbles alot like in the movie. It tastes just like the butterbeer from the wwohp. Its also really good as a slushie. Its really strong and sweet. It takes a little while to get used to it, but its worth it. You can thank mugglenet for the recipe

hmm, that seems suspiciously creamy, I will probably go through quite a few recipes before I pick a favorite... :/ but thanks though, I think it might be cool to take little sample bottles of different recipes into WWoHP and test them side by side with the original! :lol

Bezoar file looks pretty easy to recreate, ill see what bfd is doing first though.

ibspitfire - that looks really really neat! good job!

ECL - book looks great!

Lynx - kk, i can try to do it when I get home tonight. ive been thinking about redoing the front of that book. I don't care much for it >< and we've gotten some better screenshots of it since i made that one, will just have to somehow find em.

Wheres bear and rob been lately?!?!

Have no fear, Bear is here!:lol

Just haven't been on the computer much lately, and when I am, I tend to do more reading than posting, at least for the time being.

Mine is hands down the best. You have to make it perfect though. Wish I could bottle some and send it to you :(

and glad you are here bear :) I miss you guys when I don't see you all the time.

and spitfire, i meant the label. not really sure what the box is supposed to look like. BMM has a bezoar box though with glasses in it or something, maybe he can take pics.. i mean i see the box, but i dont know whats on the sides

Fine, here's proof. O' ye of little faith...

Faith has nothing to do with it. I knew the map says North-West on it but what does that prove?

It is abundantly clear from the images posted previously Ollivanders is right smack between Broomstix and Flourish and Blotts and both those shops are on the Noble Map so why can't Ollivanders be there as well.

As i said, I really don't care, but I'm not gonna pass a senseless argument by.

I have a question: what would you suggest for fonts for the inside of a hogwarts textbook? and how about clip art/graphics, for spell effects etc.?

May I ask an off topic stuff, does anyone know anything about the numerical system or symbols representing the numbers in the Magical World? Like the symbols in the Muggle-Born Registration Forms of Hermione and Mr. Weasley, the I.D. card of Ministry of Magic.. I can't find any information about it (possibly don't know where to start with) : / and I want to know more.. please tell me if someone knows!

I think the label just goes down the sides until the bottom of the box, as to keep the lid on before purchase.

Whether it goes underneath too is anyone's guess, as it doesn't show the bottom of the box in the film. Unless there has been a replica that shows the underside of it.

Also, this is a pretty good image for the sides too.

as far as the text, it would just take some time to figure out what it says, but i dont think there is that much

Ollivanders and Weasleys' Shop are both in North-West Diagon Alley. Ollivanders is between Flourish and Blotts and Weasleys' has to be somewhere near Quality Quidditch Supplies or Scribbulus...the only reason why they aren't in the NC map is because the map is based on the Set of Diagon Alley used in the 2nd movie, the Chamber of Secrets where both the shops, Ollivanders and Weasleys'(for oblivious reasons), aren't built in that set. Take a look at this video

James thats a great video I completely forgot that was on the DVD. Flourish and Blotts is the same set used for Ollivanders just been redesigned for that film but its the exact same store front.

I have emailed Hinky with an updated version of the back and spine of Life/lies, it should be a higher res file than the current one. I refined a few areas, smoothed out the quill so it hopefully sits in the picture more naturally, fixed the Daily Prophet Logo's and refined Rita's signature on the back too as it looked a little jagged in a few areas I thought. I've also darkened the roots of Rita's hair a little as I thought it looked a little flat and I switched her head to the opposite direction so match her hair parting in the screen version of the book.

The new file will be up as soon as Hinky is able to get around to it I imagine, in the meantime there is the one on my flickr but I think they have resized it.

From what I have found the symbols are a combination of astrological, alchemical and arcane symbols thrown together. If there is a code for which symbol is which number it is known only to the prop makers.

@smoothrat, thanks very much for trying, but considering the everything else that team has made I wouldn't be surprised if it was more than one font mixed together, or if the letters were individually altered. I found something closeish, it's called calligraphica LX italic, but I was wondering, maybe you know of a solid version of this font, rather than the one with all the white spots peaking through.
@Elliot, thanks! The quill does look somewhat more realistic now, but I'm not sure it's possible for that quill and that picture of Rita to look 100%. But you got very close!

wow, it's been a day I didn't visit the thread and it's full again of some AWSOME new props! Thanks everyone! @ecl: The cover looks great

The bezoar box would be brilliant! ;)

@luke, I'm still digging around for your font but I have some family stuff going on right now so could take a day or so.

Unfortunately, I can't read that.... If you can help me out and see if you, or others on the thread can figure that part out, I can start on it.

Luke, when are we doing our project?
