Harry Potter free paper props - all movies and more!

Damn, as much as I love the HP wiki, I always forget it exists! lol
btw, I don't mean to bombard everyone here about my Time-Turner but I really want to get these out so you're stuck looking at my new sig :lol

@hinky, I email you a bunch of props. with the Rowene. If you can put them up on the front page, that would be great

I saw the email Norbert, but did you make any of those or are they all promos?'

and luke, i need a good pic of 'year with the yeti' in order to do that one. I have no idea whats on the cover of that book.

ok, I've got a great one, just PM me your email :)
actually, I can just send it to the one in your sig

From what I have found the symbols are a combination of astrological, alchemical and arcane symbols thrown together. If there is a code for which symbol is which number it is known only to the prop makers.

Oh! Thanks and I think I should start studying the book "Ancient Runes Made Easy".

I did a scan of the bezoar a few pages back.

@hinky: I did most of them. There might be 4 or 6 of them are official ones.

Easy Spells to Fool Muggles:

I have this sized to fit a 6" x 9"x 1.5" book, but it'll probably fit other sizes fine as long as the proportions are close. It's just a dust jacket cover. The spine and back are made up, I have no idea what it is supposed to be.

it looks WONDERFUL ecl. you are really very very talented. you had created back cover so great. back of this man, brilliant idea :love... perhaps, i will try the cover today if i can find a matching book and show you the result. by the way, how can you fit the image onto page while you print? i can't do that :( so i always have to make them less than a page size :(

After trying to decipher this text for myself, it makes me appreciate how much work actually goes into making every book cover, sign or map. I really don't know how you do it. Well done.

Previously, Someone posted the hi-res images from this site: Harry Potter: 23 Astounding Props | EW.com
How did you get the pictures? because I would like get the ones from other sections, like the sets, etc.

Also: I have a question: what would you suggest for fonts for the inside of a hogwarts textbook? and how about clip art/graphics, for spell effects etc.?

P.S. a lot of posts are getting lost and going unanswered because this thread is so busy! do try and answer people's questions, please!

@Lynx: I'm glad you like the cover! Ingrid helped by suggested including a drawing of the back of the guys head on the back cover hehe. I think it was a fun idea because the book is kind of funny too. Sometimes getting the cover to fit your book is hard. I have made files that fit approximately a 6"x9" book with 2", 1", or 1.5" spines. If you need a particular one let me know. There are a lot of hardcover novels that are this size if you look around. I have this sized to print on a 13"x19" page so it fits on that, but that would require a printer that can print some bigger images, or would have to printed at a print store.

@Ingrid: Great work on the back cover! I've been interested in that book for a while! I don't know what the font is for the back of that Dark Arts book. Does anyone know it? Also, the spine has no text at all I believe, just that dark maroon cloth. If someone wanted to make a replica they might be able to glue on some fabric or book fabric onto the spine and then glue the front and back cover on separately!

Here's an update on the Fool Muggles book. I ended up using leftover paper that I used with my Potions book, and spray painted the front with gold spray paint. It actually worked better than I thought it would. But then I found out that inkjet would not print well at all over it, so I ended up taking it to the photocopy place to get it printed onto another sheet with the gold spray on it.

It's kind of funny, the book I found for this one is a "Philosophy of the Chronicles of Narnia book" Everything lined up ok, though not exactly. I'll probably print another one out when I get more paper.

oh wow cool! I never noticed those when I was there earlier this year. Cool to see there's even the potion making book hidden up there!!

bleeeeh... why does everyone find hi-res photos for books after I already spent hours designing them with ****e graphics :(

They still need to be adjusted and made print ready, and your older versions made them able to have a copy earlier. Everything should always improve & get better. I know you've told me you were going to go back and rework some of them anyway so it has made your job much easier. Look for the positive in it.

Nice job ecl.

Are you saying you ended up painting the paper first and then had the copy place print over that? My real question is, the copy shop actually ran your painted paper through their printer??

And what are the final dimensions of your book.
