Harry Potter free paper props - all movies and more!

in the first picture: 'fireslug_123 has just completed the Philosophers Stone'

i am sorry but who cares with that? what can i do if fireslug_123 has completed it? this is rubish really! i hope there will be good stuff to read in this website. agghhr whatever i still love JKR so much! :)

From what I understand, you can make friends on the site. So the "fireslug_123" is just an example of a user name along with "Runespell1". Its just showing you the interaction you have with others and it'll tell you when they become friends with others and when they do things.

I think as you go through the book, you will find new information. So I gather, in Goblet of Fire when Voldemort comes back, thats where the information of how the potion works that Wormtail made. and sometime in Half-Blood Prince or Deathly Hallows, thats when we will find out how Horcruxes are made (I can't wait for this one because she said her editor almost got sick reading that).

I'm looking forward to yet another place to meet Potter friends. On the Leaky Cauldron I have over 800, but I only talk to like 5 of them.
 
If I read correctly in press release, only Philosopher's Stone will be able for reading when it opens. Chamber of Secrets comes early in 2012, can you imagine when is HBP going to be published there? Oh and it's highly unlikely that there will be information on horcruxes, as she said that will be in encyclopedia. I think these new 18 000 words are just dropped lines and things from original script and a few new back stories, nothing more. It's a nice thing though but the whole project looks like an attempt to sell e books and keep fans potter interested because film series is over, so pottermore will keep us interested into potter long hopefully long enough till publication of Encyclopedia. My opinion is that pottermore will have a same fate as her website which is amazing source of informations and way better than this.

is there still a chance for publication of encyclopedia? i thought she wont publish the encyclopedia after this website! oouw then i am less disappointed now :rolleyes

it is great to meet new people who likes harry potter. especially for me, bcoz in my country people look so strange (look at them with different eyes) to people who love harry potter (i dont know how to express this sentence exactly sorry :( ) it is bcoz of that most of them have no idea about amazing world of harry potter even this book is a bestseller one in my country too!!! so i dont have so many friends here whom i can share my opinion about potter world. just my boyfriend listens to me sometimes :confused so, it is nice to meet new people for me BUT a thousends of new friends even wouldnt make me happier than a new book which is related to anything about harry potter :cry

I know exactly what you mean! I only have one friend in person that likes Harry Potter and she doesn't like it no where as much as me. She just likes it enough to talk about it occasionally and get excited about things. Whereas I'm obsessed! I live in America, but I just sadly live in a place where very few like it and if they like it, I don't know then :( I agree with you though, a book is better than 1000 new HP friends.
Sadly JKR said she won't write another HP book, a sequel to HP, or anything else about the Wizarding World (its on snitchseeker). :cry but who knows, give it possibly 10 years and she may change her mind. I was hoping for Hogwarts A History or something!

Ok so I made something (haha) well i used Barneyrfd's text and shaped a letter using another picture I had so the flap looked more like the original and added the seal into the image on the flap. I also changed the texture from a scan I made of the original prop so while I made it I had some help from allot of sources.

Here is the file, it is the Hogwarts envelope to Harry addressed to the smallest bedroom.

If anyone can tell me how to do the thumbnails I will do that next time as it probably will be big on here.

Here is a good shot of the interior of the cover. Looks like the publisher emblem mixed with a clip art version of Rita Skeeter's face.

If you look at this picture of Hermione handing the book to Harry, you will see the front circle of the cover is cut out and show the picture on the next page of Dumbledore.

Pottermore site seems really bogged down and frozen, probably too busy! It is a little disappointing to hear the news isn't as big as people hoped, but I'm still happy that there is another potter experience to go through. Maybe the site can grow as a digital exploration of the world on different devices like the ipad, etc. to create different interactive experiences someday. The screencaps Nicki posted look pretty cool and I really look forward to going through the site whenever it's accessible!

Nice envelope eviltig, and the beedle bard book looks nice lynx.
 
@eviltig: Nice work on the envelopes.

The only thing I do differently is to print out the seal separately from the envelope on label paper and stick it to the envelope flap.

Very clever Rob :lol And right on the nose. I think the Creator has her heart in the right place but it does smack of a little bit of a $$ grab by Sony to sell HP mechandise.

I know its all the buzz right now but hopefully the thread will not be too overrun with posts about pottermore. If it continues at the pace of the last few days a new thread should be started.

The only thing I really would like to see from pottermore is there will be more props to replicate.

yea that seems expensive, if I had files for the prophet I'd just put them up here for people to print freely. They look ok, but a lot of the text and design don't look screen accurate enough! I might have bought some if they were highly crafted and finished accurately.
