Harry Potter free paper props - all movies and more!

bfd, I meant to ask you how you handled the gold tip on your memo. I ended up having to cut mine with a curved top. In other words, it looked like a wedge of pie. I have a sticker maker so I ran it through the maker and it put adhesive on the back of the gold foil and I just pressed it to the corner of the paper that would be the tip of the plane and when I re-folded the plane to finish it, the foil just folded with it.

Thanks, but I already have those, I just don't get how to go from picture 2 (which is where I am) to picture 4

@everyone, for my ind. study at school I'm doing graphic design, I'd love to make some hp paper prop, but I am not super talented so if anyone has any ideas of some simple paper prop, I'd be more than willing to make it and share it here.

@woozelmom: That method sounds good to me. I was just going to add the foil after I folded the 2 parts of the memo and put them together.

I don't know if it helps but picture 4 shows the bottom of the plane. The only problem that I had doing this plane was thinking it was made like I made paper airplanes when I was a kid. This plane has like a split bottom to it. Like a "W" shaped bottom. You can see it in picture 4.
This plane is made of two components. The main memo and the outside cover. Which is the one that you have to cut that funny shape on the one end of the paper.

@lukeforester1: woozelmom is correct, the memo is made from 2 separate pieces. Picture 2 is the message body and picture 4 is the "envelope" body.

There is no way in the Muggle world to make this MOM flying memo from one piece of paper, no matter how you fold it. Us Muggles have to use our ingenuity to beat this one.

:DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
except now my paper is so crumpled from trying and re-trying that it's just awful, I'll make another few prints when I get my printer up and running

Glad you got it luke. No amount of s'plaining will help until that little light goes off in your head.

By the way, is that a toothbrush on your desk in the photo you posted of the Daily Prophet...:)

W.O.M.B.A.T. Grade 2 Answers

I still have not found any published answers for the WOMBAT Grade 1 test but I did find the Grade 2 answers which are attached. So don't look if you don't want to know until after you try the test.

I added a marking scale for each of the passing and failing levels that seems reasonable. Again there is no published scale so if anyone doesn't like the one I've provided, feel free to make up your own.

Hi lukeforester1,
I am so glad that the memo fell into place for you :) I know that it took me a few times too before I got it. There is something to be said for perseverance :)

bfd,
Thanks for the answer key to the grade 2 Wombats :)

Yeah I just realized you have to fold it back over itself, which hadn't even occurred to me until I was just looking at what I thought was the bottom and then I just pulled the wings over for kinda no reason and BAM! I had it.

@lukeforester1: that is exactly what happened to me as well, and from there, the whole thing fell into place

@woozelmom: you are very welcome

Hi Everyone,

The pictures look great Luke and the s'plaining from woozel was a great help for when I'll be tackling this.

I got out of work earlier that expected yesterday and tackled the Hogwarts Express Luggage tag. Its the first graphic I've done on the computer in a very long time so there are a few areas not perfect, the 'S's in particular. However I hope its of use to someone.

To finish it off it needs printed at roughly 66%, put onto card stock and a single hole punch put into the top middle and then white cord/yarn looped through.

I hope to contribute more in the future as I really love this thread and find all the members here are totally awesome.

P.S. There is so much I want to get printed up, someday soon :)

@woozelmom: this is crazy, its like we're on the same wave length lately!!!! I bet you are posting something similar right now....:lol

Yes, it comes in the Harry Artifact box, I just noticed they are now on the Noble UK site, shipping in July. I had a photo on my old mac from years ago.

I ordered the artefact boxes from Noble and they gave me an expected shipping date of 4-30-11. Does anybody know if they are shipping yet?

What are the Noble Collection paper props like, quality wise? I might spend some of my Income tax refund on one or more of the Artefact boxes (the Harry and Ron boxes look pretty interesting).

Anyone got bigger version of Chudley Cannons poster? :s I want to print it out.
