quick question..... ( after reading through multiple threads already )..... did we ever ocme to a consensu on the size of the hero monster book of monsters ?
 
Hinky you did a nice job re-creating back cover of When Muggles Attack ^^
I wanted to ask uhm is there a re-created back cover for Tales of Beedle the Bard?

Same for The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore, Hinky did a awesome job recreating front cover but I need back cover too cause I'm planning to make books to look like in the movies, but with text inside. I'm going to print out most of books that Hinky re-created both with front and back cover. So it's going to be like a real, readable book ^^

I have a lot paper/ book props ideas, so I hope that suggestions are welcome :)
 
@nickilenart she said they're coming... Where are you getting text for the insides of these books? if it is a digital file would you mind sharing it here? I'd LOVE to have Hinkypunk books with content related to the subject inside!
 
Pages, some low quality scans and even blank books were on available on internet during the start of franchise, daily prophet also. Some of the books are blank totally, some you can't even looks inside, Gilderoy Lockhart books have a nice introduction and few pages, Magical Theory is actually a real book, that talks about laws of magic, what magic can and what can't do, About wizarding life, simply about theory of magic itself. Book called Quidditch Teams of England and Ireland is also amazing book. It's based on Quidditch Through The Ages school book, but it's still amazing, breath taking. I've got printed out scans from my friend. Only thing I hate about them is that curvy, tiny font like on old Daily Prophet that makes reading so difficult. From some books I have printed out scans that my friend sent me, but some I have only page or two. But nevertheless, I'll use them and information from the novels, jkr interviews, her website, movie etc. and re-type text from scans and make a book, and write a text for other books. I'm a writer, it's not so hard for me I have like uhmm dunno Order of Phoenix thick book of my magic facts and informations from harry potter world. It's just, Wizarding World is my obsession, I know every single corner of it, everything xD So when I finish them I'll print them out and make my own collection of Hogwarts school books and post it online for people that love to read :)
 
Well I plan on reading them the second you post them... I CAN'T write for any length of time, few people can, I'm sure many people would LOVE to see the finished products! What you're undertaking is a MASSIVE project, to write about 30-40 books on something that isn't even real. I'm sure many people (including myself) would be more than willing to participate if you were open to making it an open project. I can do SOME writing. Someone else can take my work and write another piece and expand upon it. And someone else can expand on that. If you started a new thread and organized everything: got bossy and gave people assignments and due dates, I think that would be a really great thing for the fan community to put together.

Blimey, that's an amazing idea! I always write about wizarding world, not about harry but about world that he's into. It's seems like I'm trapped there, but I like it. Right now, I'm actually making a Hogwarts map with changes from Deathly Hallows, new towers, viaduct, marble staircase etc. During all these years all that learning about wizarding world expanded to a massive universe in my head, wizarding world in Britain I got over 6 years ago, I spent time writing all that and now I know every wizarding school in Europe and USA, every qudditch team, location of ministry of magic, absolutely everything, every detail. It's sick how big wizarding world became in my head. Of course, I invented, wrote all these informations cause I always wanted to know more, not more about Harry, more about Wizarding World, and JKR just didn't give away much, but she says:...I am aware of what I have created, the gates I have opened, but I'm not closing them, ever. I need a Potter break, but you feel free to explore it, only you know the limits.
I don't look at that like a hobby, like I'm a fan, I respect it, think about it and write about it like it's real and then imagination do the rest. Creates the world.
I'm actually waiting to repair my laptop and I want to finish An Appraisal of Magical Education in Europe book. It's my favorite book mentioned in potter series, it's because gives you reminder that wizarding world isn't just in UK, it's everywhere. Maybe near you lives some squib? Or muggle-born wizard, or there's a pub like leaky cauldron or quidditch museum or aurors office or wand store or house of rich family of wizards.

At the end, I haaaaaaate when I want to say a simple thing and end up with writing a novel >.< xD But I like your idea :)

@Luke - part 2 is coming soon hopefully. I finally have a weekend coming up on Sunday, but I've got more maskwork to do for my death eater costumes. Monday is probably the only day I'll have to myself... If I even get that.

I'll be happy when I have all these masks finished.
 
@Hinky Did you have any luck getting any reference pictures of Voldemort robes you were after in the end? Looking forward to seeing your Deatheater costume :)

Here is a picture of my son reading the latest copy of When Muggles Attack. We picked up our copy at Flourish & Blott's today :lol
I used a free book that I picked up from the library. The color of the cover of the book really complimented the colors in your artwork :)

@woozelmom: the flying memo looks great! You fold a mean piece of paper!! The gold foil tip really finishes it off nicely. (Hope the chocolate bar was a tasty...)

Your "When Muggles Attack" book looks great as well. What kind of glue did you use to get the printout to stick to the cover?

Glad to see you are getting some time to put these props together 'cause they do end up looking pretty good when they "come to life"...;)
