Harry Potter free paper props - all movies and more!

@lukeforester1: this is what I have hear from someone at Universal Orlando

"Full costume no. Its for security reasons. If you are just going to wear a robe that is sold in the park it is allowed. Universal does not allow full costume (makeup, wigs, and costumes) into the park because guests could be mistaken for cast members."

unless things have changed in less then a month, I just don't really know

Ah, well, apparently, even in a FULL costume I still look too much like a muggle. :cry

MINISTRY OF MAGIC FLYING MEMO

We have to keep in mind it is a prop and was made for a specific purpose, and probably does not follow any "standard" rules for paper airplane making.

Looks great! Are you going to offer the files for printing?

MINISTRY OF MAGIC FLYING MEMO

After studying the prop card for the MM flying memo and folding dozens of paper airplanes, I decided that the memo has to be made from two pieces of paper.

We have to keep in mind it is a prop and was made for a specific purpose, and probably does not follow any "standard" rules for paper airplane making.

The flying memo folding and shape can only be made by using square paper. I chose to cut an 8.5" x 11" sheet down to 8.5" x 8.5" which looks pretty close to the prop size.

I added text to the memo as shown on the prop card. A closeup of the text shows it is just random letters not real words so I just repeated Ministry of Magic over and over to fill the space.

Take a look at the attached pictures and let me know what you think.

I also was not in love with font I used for CONFIDENTAL and MEMORANDUM so I revised it. I will attach my seal and if JamesDragon posts his you can use whichever you like.

Hi Woozelmom

I got the paper at Staples, it's a 20lb bond paper called Pastel Orchid (2 cents a sheet).

I tried using construction paper but it's too heavy and hard to fold.

Thanks Barney,
I think I have to take a trip to Staples tomorrow :)
Oh, great idea for the foil tip. Any excuse to by a chocolate bar is OK with me :lol

@Woozelmom: If you go to Staples you should buy a few sheets of paper 'cause you might not get the folding right the first time around (or two). Even with the folding template i still managed to mess up quite a few folds.

I ended up using a thin ruler and that helped keep the fold lines straight.

Think of the chocolate as a little reward after completing the flying memos.:angel

Thanks! To help with the folding, if you are skilled with an exato, you pre score the fold on the opposite side that you will be folding together, so in other words, mountains you score your side, valleys the other side. It does take a little practice to keep from cutting all the way through, so expirement on scrap first!

Is the link for the seal broken?
