Went with a 3 stage painting process. Black acrylic stippled into all the lower nooks and crannies, then sprayed with an automotive dark metallic charcoal, then Rub 'n Buff silver leaf on the high spots

Also, renaissance_man - I was at a con, this past weekend and I accidentally dropped the Baseball-Orb you made for me onto CONCRETE. I freaked out before it hit the ground because of all the work you put into it, to say nothing of the detail work that I put into it...and it bounced up about THREE FEET!

My 'Golfball' theory actually WORKED!!
I didn't put a baseball in it, I used up some old cast resin parts from old kits to bulk out the space and filled it out with resin, but the thing still weighs about 500g!
