Limited Run LOTR Map of Middle Earth

I have a small run of the LARGE Lord of the Rings Middle Earth Map created back in the day by Adam S. I had one of the originals, but always wanted one on a thicker paper that would take some good aging. I had the files saved and I recently came across them again, so I finally broke down and decided to give it a shot.

The paper is expensive, but it has a great feel to it. It's 140 lb cold pressed paper, so it holds up well to water if you want to give it some aging. It's got a little texture to it as well. I found a printer local to me and they did a test print of part of the map. It came out great, so I made the jump and set up the run. The price of the paper and the printing combined are the price of the final print (rounded).

I'll have 8-9 prints available (depending on if Adam wants one on the house, it is his map after all). One of the prints will be in color (I wanted to see how the color would come out), the other 8 will be black and white. I thought I would offer them here. First come first served. No payment due until they ship. I should have the final prints in hand within the week. Again, I will only have 8-9 prints and one 1 of those will be in color.

Here are the details:

• 31.5"x 36" prints.
• 140lb cold press paper
• The price per print is $45.00 US + Shipping. Shipping will be $3.10 US (for the tube) + actual shipping cost to your location.

If there are more people interested, I could possible do another run. I just need to make sure I can find more of the right paper. So if you are interested, please let me know if you would like color or black and white. For this run the first person to claim the color one will get that option.

I've also attached a picture of an aged print. I aged it using walnut crystals just as a test (I did NOT use tea or coffee, so it's technically still archival)

If you are interested in me aging the print, let me know. I can do it for an additional $25.00 fee per print.

I got the first prints back. I won’t lie, they are pretty. The paper is perfect. Thick. Hefty. I had to use some heavy glass to weight it down to stop it from rolling.

I’m excited to put some aging on it.

Here is an aged color version. I use a mix of concentrations of the walnut to give some darker area, but tried to keep it still relatively light so the color doesn’t wash out too much.

I also don’t distress the edges. I figure it would be old, but cared for.

For those interested in aging of their prints, I can do it for you. It takes a few hours, so probably $25.00 feels right. I don’t want it to be too high as the point of this run is to get a great map on a great paper relatively cheap.

Free up some wall space. It’s a beauty!

Small Update - I received the tubes today, but I don’t like them. I ordered a different type, which should arrive early next week.

The good news, I had to order a larger quantity, so they are cheaper per tube, which will reduce shipping. Now $3.10/tube

I’ll update the price and hopefully save everyone a few bucks.
