Since the announcement it has really just done down hill from there, quite smoothly, no positive bumps in the road.

Down hill smoothly? Its like a rollercoaster straight to hell..... ooooh that would have been a better movie than this seems to be turning into.

I dunno. The more I see of the actual film, the less...funny it seems. It just seems so...forced. Like, there's nothing organic about the humor. They seem to be trying very very very hard to be funny. And it just doesn't work for me. The humor is too broad. There's nothing unexpected or challenging about it.
I mean, they all look like they're having fun, so, hey, great for them. But even aside from the debacle of how this film came into existence and the truly awful marketing campaign behind it...it just doesn't look funny.

the only one that looks like they are having fun is mckinnon and maybe thor. everyone else has a giant puss face on them. just like in the promo shots, very few smiles ;o)

You know, if they really wanted to make a great sequel, they should have taken a page from SG-1 and gone a bit more supernatural. Maybe the crux of the story involves a global mind-wipe of the events of the earlier movies. Maybe the original cast are the only ones who remember what happened.
Maybe the quest of this one could have been these four women trying to seek out the truth. And the closer they get to it, the more that paranormal sightings emerge

see, i kind of like that idea.
all it takes is a minute of thought by real fans, and boom. you've got an idea worth pursuing.
I havn't watched the rest of the jimmy kimmel segment with the old cast yet. I thought they'd all be on at 8:00...instead, they pulled the bait and switch.
I hope it wasn't as bad and akward as his segment with the 'new' cast.
the only thing funny on that was the question game at the end. I hated myself for cracking a smile at this hate campaign known as ghostbusters.

How obnoxious can you get? After seeing all the trailers and everything, Im starting to hate her face. Its like "hey, winston was cool and funny, lets make this character the complete opposite". :facepalm

The only way I can get some positivity out of this, is if I scored a case of ecto cooler. And Ill probably get flamed for this, but I dont care, that picture looks like a parent drew it and pretended it was a kid that did it. That apparently is a thing on the internet now. Just sayin.
I have suspected this outcome since day one.
It's a modern "comedy". That means it has to fit into the modern post-Sandler/Farley style. No dark/threatening moments (or even much dramatic seriousness) in the storyline. The general plausibility is zero. Everybody chews the scenery all the time. Bodily function jokes abound. Every punchline is SCRE-E-E-EAMED and then SCRE-E-E-EAMED again. (This all sounds like GB, doesn't it? Err . . wait . . )

Thanks. I firmly believe that if you want to make more of a good movie, don't reboot it. Don't even soft reboot it. Expand on the original. Acknowledge it. Make it a bigger world.
Heck, in my version, the original cast could all be locked up in an asylum. It would give the old actors meat to work with and it wouldn't negate what they did in the 80's. And it also wouldn't feel like some cheesy "passing of the torch"
That's one of my main complaints of the new star wars. It felt too much like a soft reboot/ passing the torch.
Why did they have to have a death star? Why did they have to down play the prequels? Perhaps instead of destroying a starkiller base, our heroes could have have to break into the burned jedi temple on coruscant in order to find (something that would help them find) luke. That would have been a new story and it would have helped build upon the prequels

Blame sony for lack of positivity. they've been on a hate campaign since this started...
About the only good thing about last night.
It really was nice to see bill relax a little. ernie looked the most uptight during this part.
It's just so sad that it's come to this. basically fans against a company that refuses to listen. all because no one in hollywood wants to work for sony, apparently. I have a feeling that's as much to do about Gb3 not happening as anything else.

Amazon prime pantry had ecto cooler in stock all week but I was unable to buy some until yesterday. I had bought 4 cases when it first came out and then amazon put a limit of 3 cases per account when they got more in stock earlier this week so I was already over the 3 case limit and then they removed the limit yesterday so I ordered an additional 3 cases because I ordered other prime pantry items along with the 3 cases so i could get the free shipping(I could have ordered 5 small items to qualify for free shipping but I wanted some other items which were larger so had to sacrifice 1 case). You can only fit 4 cases per prime pantry box.
