GHOSTBUSTERS Pre-Release - film discussion only, no social commentary please!

9AM tomorrow, apparently.

a year worth of bashing this thing. a years worth of putting up with the stuff we can't mention in this thread. a year worth of even sony questioning their own decision...even more so now thatthey have a finished product...

May we have every hope it's what we dread it to be, and even the supporters start to doubt themselves..
At least you're keeping an open mind about it! :lol

Can't wait to see it!

i'm nothing if not direct and honest! :)

'Paul feig...i'd like to strangle that kid' - homer simpson.

-edit I guess we can also see why all the fan pages are playing nice. sucking up to reitman. that, and a few of them get to host the trailer early it seems. and my 'paid by sony ' comments from earlier come back into play.

Cautiously optimistic about this one...some of the schtick regarding the dialogue is already wearing thin for me after seeing these women in action over so many movies (and a million others like them--even TFA had it "Am I supposed to speak now or are you?" from Poe, for instance), but still...looks like it could be worth checking out.

Just saw it on the GB facebook page. Looks like it... may be a sequel?

I'm more thinking that they are trying to win people over into THINKING it may be a sequel.

I'm still not quite sure what I just saw.

more paul feig saying women are the best at everything 'you are the best person I know at this'....another vomit joke.
some dumb ass proton gun licking. some goofy proton boxing gloves.
A giant Beetlejuice ghost. some more fan pandering with a slimer and the real ghostbusters joke.

If I didn't know ANYTHING about how this movie went down, I MIGHT give this movie a chance based on that trailer. and that would be with my extreme dislike for mellisa mcarthy. but knowing how it all came to this point? I STILL want it to fail. BADLY. I just can't get positive about this after the last year with all that's happened and all that's come out.

at this point, the trailer made it seem like it might be slightly better than bay turtles....reboot or direct sequel.

I just think that after that trailer, more people are going to be swayed to the positive camp now.

But, look at that official ghostbuster group photo. not many people are smiling in that shot ;o)...

:O

Are you guys serious? Wow! I thought I watched the final nail in the franchise coffin. One man's garbage, huh?

Looks like Sony is punting on the sequel VS reboot approach. That opening isn't quite definitive; it could be taken as "30 years ago there was another movie" or "30 years ago in the story."

yeah, that was my thought as well...

What I'm worried about, is that after a year of fighting, people will grow tired, get hopeful, and nostalgia or hopefullness will kick in.

It'd be interesting to go back and rewatch the trailer for Spy. I've seen some of that movie. it's not good.

The reviews on YT are already starting to be more mixed than they where before with the announcement trailer.

sigh. and as I feared, ALREADY people are saying 'See? It's NOT a reboot you idiots...'...

this is all one big cluster thanks to bill murray.

That looked... AWFUL.

It seems it's what I feared. Over the top, not subtle at all. I didn't find any moment of the trailer funny. :thumbsdown

No wonder they waited so long to release it. MAN. Ghost projectile vomit? Slapping a ghost out of someone? ****.

Can't really complain about beetle juice giant monster when the last giant monster was a marshmallow man. (and fun)

As a film this looks like it will be a good laugh. Just like the original one was.

Script wise, probably not the strongest.

The music gave me the heebie jeebies as a callback to watching it whilst young. Really enjoyed that.

I'm just happy to have another Ghostbuster's story even if its not the OG. I'm glad its a reboot instead of sequel because they can't ruin the original now!
