FINISHED (see pg 21) WIP - BTTF - Nike Air Mag

It's been a long time i haven't updated this page with my "too many Mag projects"

so here is the last one i'm working on, and i need your feeling about one detail...
i'm not sure about them having to have a strap, but as i wanted to make a lowtop casual mag
from these roshe replicas (like a lot of people use them to make custom roshe mags) before getting real roshes to make a final custom...

what do you think ?

Phase 1 : test on painting pattern and painting the sole :

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Phase 2 : tests on the decals made out of foam, painted, then attached to the shoe (temporary) :

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Phase 3 : adding details like elastic bands, redo a white tongue, painting the back white like the Mag collar and place the future lights and strap :

we're in the same boat. I was thinking about doing this to my mods. im still searching for the perfect material/textile/fabric for the gray color of the official shoe (if not, the movie version)

Hi everyone.

After a long time without any news (cause I moved to another appartement and stuffs) here are the news !
I've been working on some custom with the Fake Roshes (see the post below) to experiment and get use to skills like preparing soles, painting them, cut them etc...
And now, I juped onto the real thing on real Roshes !

Here is some pictures :

Lookin good! if you're making tongue extensions for sale feel free to message me, i'd be interested in a couple thanks

Now that I have figured out what was wrong with my machine, sewing a tongue is easy and quick. The hardest part is that ribbon edge.

Good, This take me about 30 min to make a pair without the ribbon edges. I give the edges to a Pro so I can achieve this look :

On this pic, the texture isn't the one I use for the tongues, I use a smooth vinyl with a little fake leather texture. And the Whithe is white ;)

My machine can do very nice stitching when it works. Today it was not playing the game at all.

If the stitching looks bad on these, it is probably operator error. Both Left and Right are at this stage. I will probably continue to sew right around the profile to create a more traditionalist sneaker look from them but want to keep as much of the "no seam" look of the MAG as I can. Part of me is wanting to do a X-Over and add the single elastic lace and Stomper straps instead of the usual 4 elastic MAG straps + ankle strap. In regards to that, I'll probably have to keep a single strap because these are not high enough for dual straps unless the top strap is really high.

When I get around to the tongues, I will probably just sew it and turn it inside out like the cuff. That way it matches. I did a version with the ribbon around the outside, but the corners want to pucker and it kind of looks odd to me now.

this looks really good man :)
I guess you havent stuff the collar yet with some foam ?
For the ears holes, you should make the stitchings bigger so when you'll cut the shape out it would have the right dimentions (here I think you'll end up with smaller holes like on the V2)
Go on and create the post about this project, i'll subscribe in to help if i can ;)

Yeah I will when I get more Vegan Leather. There are a few things I thought about after I had ,made these.

No foam in there yet. I was attempting to stuff foam in the other night and it kept gripping the inside, regardless of how thin I made it. My machine won't sew it with the foam already in there, so making that neat seam under the foam is going to be a challenge.

I am not turning this set inside out, rather stitching on the line and cutting close - like the way most runners are done. This is why I mentioned the Stomper X-Over. If you look how it is done, only its cuff is turned inside out. Everything else is sewn and cut.

I know what you mean, but have not had success on virtually all the prototypes I have done. I just lose that "nose" shape (if you think of that part as a face). If that makes sense at all.

I think a stretchy materials work, but not something like leather or that mesh I've working with as there is not enough stretch.

The pull holes are easy to make bigger and your right they will need to be once they are cut out.

If I had enough materials to start over, this is how I would go about this.

So I would cut the entire shape out as a single part including the cuff which is attached. I would sew up the back seam and then lay the upper out flat. I'd then use a 2nd part over the cuff area and sew it down so that when flipped up, the stitching runs along the seam line. A 3rd part is them sewn to that so when flipped over forms the cuff seam at the top. Now the stitching is hidden, but you also can have two colours - white + grey. If I was to make a black or dark grey pair where the cuff and upper are the same colour, then the sewing line is fine.

Wow thats a big mod with the HC's. Lookin' much better than my stock version....
You've really gotta get some Cavx clear soles on there, they make a really big difference.....

thanks, I'll make a Before / after picture when finished ;)

Actually, I have a set of Clear Soles, but I'm keeping them for something different.
Not sure that the HCs diserves these ^^

I really like these. They kinda look like the original film shoes.

Like socks with soles :)

Good point, they way they looked when Marty is about to put them on. The screen used shoes are really floppy here almost to the point that they look like they could not free stand.

Yeah, I was just looking at phones of the screen used shoes and these are pretty spot on. Definitely one of the best HCS on here.

I've had some time to add the ribs and glue the vinyl on the inside of the shoe...
And take this shot of a Before > After (with another HC shoe) :
