FINISHED (see pg 21) WIP - BTTF - Nike Air Mag

Any chance we can have a look at the back of the shoes @RVLF? I am curious to see the way you have done the back seam.
here it is ! As you can see, it is not invisible, i tried to make it as tight as i could but that's the best came up with... This is another thing i'll imrove on my next ones.
it is an eternal trial and mistakes to get to the holly mags...

I should have sewn it before putting the foam inside and make it upside down. But anyway, this is fine to me when you put the strap, you don't see so much of it...

This still looks good.

When I did mine, I sewed the back seam first and then added the collar piece, The collar piece should be a single piece and creates a Tee seam at the top and gives the back seam strength. The foot print part does the same at the heel end.

The same thing goes for the seam on the inner seam between the laces. Except that seam is more complicated by the laces and the part I kept getting wrong.

I'm not sure to understand what you mean for the collar seam.
But I'm pretty sure that the one on the side with the laces is the more complicated one.
I Also think that the seams are made or reinforced with some kind of glue or something.
When you look at the V2 it looks very flat and you can't see nothing beetween. This part seems to be ironed / glued ??? ...

Yeah I figured this might be hard to explain. The two halves of the back make a seam that runs vertical. The seam is the weakest at the ends. To get a seam running across the top of the collar requires a third piece. This is sewn to the top of the upper and then flipped over. I would have to dig through my photos to where I did this a while back. It adds a lot of strength to the seam.

Here you go :)

Here is my new technic :

No seam at all :D but i'll add one just to make things stays in place. But it will be just one line.

yes, but I don't really liked this curvy shape anyway... and it is easyer this way for me to make the shoe.

So how different is your pattern from the 2011 MAG pattern. You seen to have nailed the way the toe sits in the sole.

cavx : it is the bottom that have to be modified and the insole shape. I made few arrangements on the upper too. Nothing big but to me they look better like this and it fits better onto the soles.

yes, the inside of it is white so it should be white outside too.
I'll try to dip this into some acetone hoping to get rid of the grey...

In my attempt to acetone the sole, I've seen that was not a good method as it just yellowed the paint.
Fortunatlly, I've tried this under the shoe (bottom)

If someone have any advices on how to remove the paint to give these white mags a white sole (or some other color...)

very cool! Another colour combo that would be very sweet would be an invert, so where the RD is grey, make it white etc! Just lookin at those white ones there I reckon grey highlights would set it off!

Your plan reminds me.... have you ever seen the prototypes that were all white? Looked so clean.....

but they wouldnt stay that way long if you actually wore them lol
also, be careful using chemicals on the midsole - some hydrocarbons break down foams. For example, car fuel (gasoline) totally dissolves styrofoam packing foam into a sticky, highly combustible sludge. Test on small areas first, probably on the underneath side (the bottom of the sole, like you already did)
Not being sure what HC soles are actually made of, I advise caution.

Maybe you could try Plasti dip. You can find videos of people using it for car and shoe color mods all over youtube. You don't have to remove the current color since it's not a paint, but a high durability coating. And you can peel it off if you get tired of it.
