Re: Finished Foam Stormtrooper Armour build - Completed pictures page 2
I had a PM about attaching various pieces of the suit, I figured I may as well post my reply in here also in case it can help anyone wanting to do a foam trooper build.
The chest and back piece should have shoulder staps to connect the two together, then you can then just slip it over your head, there isn't a pep file for these straps but I just worked out roughly what length I needed and made them myself, they look and attach like this:
I just made those and made sure the gap was right for me to be able to slip it over my head etc.
You also want some sort of connection at the bottom of the chest/back pieces, but you need to leave a gap in between they don't connect fully at the bottom they look like this:

Now this person has used a white strip to hold them together, but I believe and it should be black, I used black webbing/chord and snap buckles like these

(same as people use on ironman builds) make sure you use black for everything as it will blend with your black under suit and go unnoticed. You just have to work out so it looks right and leaves the gap then attach chord/buckles on either side.
Attachment I made for wearing the suit
:
I attached the shoulder bells to the shoulder straps discussed above using the chord/buckles like this:

(the pic uses buttons but you should still get the idea.
I then attached the bicep to the shoulder in the same way chord and buckle a bit like this:
The forearms I found are very tight so didn't use anything for these, infact these will likely be to tight to go over your hands so you will need to cut a slit the full length of the forearm and create a way so it can be fastened back together with velcro or something once wrapped around your arm, same applies to the shins they will be too tight to go over your feet.
The ab/stomach area I just attached a snap buckle to one side so it was like a big belt, same applied to the belt below this.
I also decided to attach the cod piece and butt plate to the belt with the buckles so they could be removed and re attached quickly and simply for sitting down and going to the toilet (a lesson I learnt from wearing my Ironman suit, standing up for hours can get annoying).
For the thighs you will need some form of garter/suspender belt, what I did for this was used an old belt (or you can make a belt with the buckles and chord) and glued 2 pieces of black chord to this with clips on the end which attach to clips inside the thighs, like this (excuse my poor drawing):
You wear this under your armour so it is hidden, it will stop your thighs from falling down, make sure the clips go at the front, anywhere else and they will restrict your movement.
