Thanks so much for the kind words and encouragement! :] I'm now working on the corset. The front is sewn together.. Here are some progression pics of that. Now i'm going to try to figure out how to 'weave' in the back pieces. :S Just waiting for my boning to arrive so i can finish the corset underneath and sew the faux leather onto it. Wheeeee!
Original pinning of the faux leather over the corset.
Sewing from the top down. This took a lot of adjustments and carefully pinning and repinning for each piece. It would have been vastly easier to just sew all the pieces as they were originally pinned but it looked way better and the design and shape stood out way more when the leather was folded over at the top. So, much more work but better result!
The unfinished corset underneath.
Finished front. It looks a little weird because its not pulled tight. I think once I finish the corset and then can sew the leather to it and have it nice and tight it will look much better. I hope.
Thank you! That took a loooot of time to make that corset. Thankfully it turned out really well! I was worried it was going to be a little loose and wonky as it was on the dress form, but as I had hoped against hope, it fit wonderfully once it was on me and laced and tightened up. I will hopefully get some photos of me wearing it this coming week, as I didn't get many pics of myself at the con this weekend. But i'm really pleased with it. The only bad part is wearing my outfit as it is currently makes me realize I still have a lot left to do
Here are the rest of the in progress corset pics, up until completion. What a pain this was literally (my fingers were like sieves from the pins) and mentally (the weaving pattern broke my brain a few times)!
Thank you thank you for all the awesome comments I'm getting really excited to get the rest of this costume together!
@Onephattsi2 yes my Mom actually took the pics and i froze while we were out there Lol!
@Pixelcat you should totally do it!!! I keep trying to get my husband to do a Thor costume to go with mine So I might be making a Thor helmet (unisex) in the nearish future! Maybe other accessories too if interest. But yeah, I've seen a few Lady Thor cosplays which are pretty cool but often a little too... lacking in the coverage for my taste lol. so one that is pretty film accurate but slightly feminine would be super awesome, IMO! I would love to chat things over with you should you feel inclined and need inspiration :]
