Elysium Props

thereby turning him into a cyborg. It's cybernetic, and attached directly to his organism. Therefore, he is a cybernetic organism - a cyborg.

And yes, you should read Battle Angel. I have read it 4 times, and never get bored. I recommend the 9 main volumes. The stuff after it, called "Last Order", is kind of... bleh.

Cyborg or not, I was not impressed with the movie lol

I think the movie offers more in the way of prop replicas than anything else. I look forward to seeing what the members here have to offer.

Great movie that felt rushed. Could have been much more.

I just got back from seeing it, and I have to say I enjoyed it. Plot got a bit sentimental in parts, but man, those droid and exoskeletons are awesome.

I don't know what kind of expletives we're allowed to use in this forum, but when I say I'm astonished Neill Blomkamp used miniatures, and used them extensively, it really doesn't express how I feel. He deserves all manner of credit for accepting there are certain things CGI just can't replicate yet.

Anyone know if the sword Kruger used was made for the movie or can I get it sold some where

The sword was designed and built by Weta specifically for the movie.

From Sharlto "Kruger" Copley's Facebook page:
WANT TO WIN KRUGER'S SWORD? Hi guys - i've decided to give away my beloved sword to one lucky facebook fan. Yup, it's the one and only actual "hero sword" I used in the film. We had other stunt ones, but this was the only "hero" one that I had to be careful not to damage during filming. It's made of aircraft grade aluminum. I'm sorry but due to legal issues, we are only able to offer this contest to American residents. Will have to find some more stuff to give away for other countries later.

This link shows how unconventional the blade design is, which means you're not likely to find it anywhere right away (replicas will probably pop up eventually).

Sharlto Copley is giving away his hero sword used during the filming of Elysium. This contest is open to American residents only. More giveaways for fans in other countries is in the pipeline.

Fewer people need to enter this so I have more of a chance to win. :lol

Hi-res Weta pics on the way!

Ya know, I would have bet money against them offering this. I wouldn't think they'd be able to export or import something so obviously gun-looking without any bright orange markings. And they didn't make replicas of any of the cool guns from Avatar, even though that grossed like a brazilian dollars.

Oh man...what to do

I've got all the D9 lifesize guns, but I thought this movie was pretty lousy

I guess I could buy one for an "investment"...great looking gun though
