I don't get it,if EFX wants to do Red 5 its to be expected. If ya want someone else, get a Salzov3 and get someone here on the boards to paint it acordingly.

I think he just DOESN'T Like PORKINS.
I think he has something against FAT people who eat quarter pounders while in the cockpit.
(I know Porkins didnt eat anything, but for some reason my mental image just goes there)

Sorry but if that is what EFX is charging for this toy... Well you know the old saying "Who is more the fool : the fool, or the fool who is following him"?
I can't wait to see the craptacular pictures of the lousy out of the factory paint-jobs of these models.

Well for that price you can have a Salzo kit built and painted by a Pro. I expected price to be in the price range of the y-wing $799 but again the paintjob was worth max $10

That is pretty steep. I hope it doesn't end up being that much. At those prices I could only afford one.
wow I never new eFX was so hated already, as I said its not a confirmed price, you never know the toy might be cheaper? I'm holding out for quite a nice paint job, I know a little bit about painting & my MR Falcon I have to say is pretty damn nice. I know there are few dodgy ones but they can do it if they want. The Y wasn't up to much but I think Bryan & the gang had learned from that. If its just OK then thats what it is but the hours needed to paint one of these as an identical replica is immense. Ive seen the Icons X-Wing up close & its got to be better than that (pretty naff). If I remember right the Icons X was going for over $2000 last year on ebay? Efx have something to prove with this X-wing & I hope they do, if they dont then isn't great that people have the choice of a V3 thats painted over a course of 4 weeks to look like an original ILM model...........hmmmmm. Who has the biggest shopping trolly's Wall Mart or Macys or Harrods? Who cares, you shop where you can afford to shop & why dont people pick on lego I mean come on there X-wing is a joke...a child could do that!
As for the cockpit opening, how else are you going to put the Luke pilot figure in it that GG are making for it, as EFX dont have the license to make these its a pretty clever idea. Dont forget rich people buy these things to put in there office not just us prop nerds. We aren't their only market, its not all about us.
Even if it is naff I really hope it sells out so they can move forward and do other SS stuff, since Rich has pulled the plug on the Slave 1 kit it seems EFX 'may' be our only hope (no pun intended) if the X sells bad this is less likely to happen for sure & I would like an SS slave 1 with or without a good paint job, so come on efx do us proud. Much nicer than come on efx let us down.
Oh yeh and efx if its ok with you can you try not to make any profit on your x-wing so people can afford it, cos there is no other options for some people?

They are? I hope they do it in 1:24. I cringe when I see 1:18 Hasbro figures crammed into SS cockpits.
Wow, there are certainly a LOT of opinions in here. As for an update, Amy will be posting the first pics of our Red Five paint master tomorrow in her trivia thread on Rebelscum. I'm sure the debate will heat up after they're seen.
Details on the development of Red Five will be posted on the "In Development" section of our website @ efxcollectibles.com in the coming weeks and months.
I understand that passions run high were the X-Wing is concerned and I know eFX won't please everybody with this release. A lot of hard work has gone into this model. It has been engineered using original reference provided by Lucasfilm with additional help from a few incredibly talented and eagle eyed individuals who post here on this board.
I hope those of you who buy this X-Wing will love it, opening cockpit, opening wings, lights and all.
