Efx X Wing

I am also, waiting for that amazing bird. I belive eFX will dominate the market with this one.

Because no ordinary fans can reach the Hero Kit or else... This one will be the first accurate X-wing on the market for the first time, in Thirty Years...

I am waiting for that official reliese since I missed the Icons X-wing.

Now its my time, I am planning to buy three of them, If eFX lets me.

One will be displayed open wings.
One will be close wings.
The third one will stay in its box.

I am in love with X-Wing... What can I say more...

On the other hand...
( I have 7 CC ones... ) I know... I am crazy...
:)

7 CC ones ... welcome to the club :lol

I own several CC ones, Mikes V2s and Mikes V3s (kits and build ups). Each and every one is very special and absolutely great. 10 Years earlier, I would have called myself "Sir King Royal Majesty" for just owning one of these beauties.

Now eFX is going to offer a new version. This is great. I am pretty sure, that it will not be perfect. But from what I have seen so far, it will be absolutely fantastic. Hopefully, when discussing small deficies, we do not forget to enjoy the good and beautiful sides of this forthcoming replica.

I have only one desire: I hope that eFX is planning the correct number for the limited run.
Too low would mean, that a lot of us will not get one. Too high might mean, that eFX might not make profit. I really hope, that eFX will make good money with the x-wing. That would encourage them to continue offering studio scale spaceships like red 1, 2 and 3, x-wings with gear down, tie, advanced tie, tie-interceptor ... and the list goes on ...

Barry, can it be divulged as to who is painting the master? Eager to see how the proto shapes up painted and weathered!

maybe they will offer a pre-sell. Something like if you put down a $250.00 non refundable deposit you get $50.00 off the retail price?

A small way to gage the edition number and also a way to help us buyers.

In answer to the question about the size of the run - the Edition Size for the X-wing is 1000 pieces.

Lee there will be an article on efxcollectibles.com in the coming weeks featuring the guy who produced the paint master.

Thats awesome Barry, thanks for the heads up, well i guess the pics are not too long away now, trying to stay up for a while to see the first glimpse of the master!

I hope you guys will like them. I've seen lots of incredible paint jobs on X-wings here in this forum. So I'm sure there will be a LOT of critiquing which is naturally to be expected. I hope people like what they see.

Barry Dont worry mate, I dont think anyone is expecting a masterpiece. It cant help but look great, just the grey proto looked great so its already won. If as much effort went in to it as a good MF then that would be amazing for a 1000 piece LTD edition.

Barry, can you let me know the answers in advance for the trivia? That might be cheating but no'one on scum will see this post !Honest!!!!!

Just a quick A, B or C will do? :lol

Just stunning Barry, I cant believe its not the real deal. Great work

Only joking

I agree, its about what i expected, and a very good paint master from the two pics ive seen.
If eFX can pull this paintwork off on the line product, there will be many happy Red 5 fans out there.

I think it looks great Barry, a lot better than most of us would have expected. I also like the stand as well, cant wait to see more pics. Top job :thumbsup

That would be the wing mounting blocks on a Salzo, or the cantilevers for a Hero prop.
On the Hero's i think they are right angled alloy pieces that the wings are screwed to!
They are true to the Hero prop though Dade :)

Well.... I think they (eFX and the Proof Artist) did a darned good job! This is one of the most recognizable pieces in the world today and it will always be hard to please everyone, let alone the thousand or so that may buy one.

Agreeing with what Guy stated... it is not easy to mass replicate such a complex paint job as what is seen on the RED 5 studio model. ILM placed much 'realism' into that birds paint job and weathering for close up shots. That stated, while I would have LOVED to have seen Bob do the proof for eFX, Bob's realism effects may have been to complex to replicate on a mass level... and somewhat intimidating. Realism is his specialty after all.

Whomever DID this artist proof was obviously instructed to make it look as real as possible, but mainly keep it replicatable. I must say that this person succeeded in doing both!

I think eFX has a winner on their hands. MUCH better than what was offered in completed form (or even in artist proof) by the former ICONS company. I know this because I own the artist proof that was originally given to GL and was displayed in his office, until the wings began to sag...heavily. LOLOLOL... and I have kept it just that way for display.

Bottome line... I don't believe anyone could mass produce a better display without getting into the pricing realm of the rediculous.

GREAT JOB eFX! And GREAT job to Barry and the gang!
