Cavern Angel: Studio Scale Partisan X-Wing (Rogue One / Andor)

recently laid down the initial colors on my second studio scale X-wing. This ship comes from the Nerdmaker Engineer files. With the hype building around upcoming season two of Andor, I just had to do one of these. Hope to see them in action and maybe I’ll tweak the scheme a bit depending on what we see on screen!

With the weathering on this, I wanted it to be more drastic than Rebel X-wings but still controlled in an ILM styling. In my head cannon the rebel ships saw space combat a lot more, while these partisan ones were mainly in an atmosphere, dealing with other kinds of grime. Also trying to keep in mind that these birds were housed in caves, sharing parts between 5-6 ships. I’m going to add some more discolored panels, and possibly some aurabesh graffiti. A couple hours of airbrushing and painting on chips with a sponge has gotten me here:

I think your weathering is closer based on that! ^ Regardless it’s been fun so far, with this paint job you can really tell a story.

Got the cannons on. Since this ship isn't truly 1:1 accurate to anything, so I went with a Red Five swirly design on of them

I'm sure he's got more pressing things on his mind, as long as all that white showing through is just paint chipping, and not bat droppings from the caverns these things hide away in...LOL
