EFX PCR boba helmet

I hope this doesn't come off a dumb question. I'm in the same boat with bbts. I was thinking of ordering one directly from efx. A few of you have done that and been alright. Are they trustworthy when ordering in stock items? I know better than to preorder from them and I've read all about the problems with anovos and in stock items. I don't want to end up with two orders being uncertain if they'll get filled.

I placed my order with EFX late Thursday night amd it shipped Friday morning. It is being delivered tomorrow.
I called BBTS today and cancelled my preorder and as a 1 time courtesy, my deposit is now a store credit and I will just have it applied to the black series Hasbro helmet which comes out in May. I am more than happy with that.

Arrived today...
Ok..this thing is nicer than expected. I will echo others in that it is much heavier than expected as well.
I had the MR when first released and sold it due to the pinch but this one looks more correct to me in overall shape, paint job and general ESB feel. The seams are negligible to me...barely there. It is most noticeable above the ear that has the RF. It doesn't phase me.
I am extremely happy with this helmet!

SameGot my BBTS notice.My ESB Fett Helmet is on the way. Although it was annoying I still like BBTS as I don't have to worry about a Scout Legend situation. Worst case you get a refund or store credit and there is plenty to buy there.

Glad to hear bbts is shipping. I think I'll hold off ordering directly from efx and just wait. It might still be a little while for me since I ordered late in the game.

I was going to order from Sideshow because I trust them more than EFX but Sideshow was out and I ordered directly from EFX. I was pleasantly surprised how fast it arrived (I paid the 10$ extra for Fed Ex 2 day). It arrived today and I can't remember when I ordered it but it feels like it was over the weekend. Maybe it was Friday.
I'm not a Dented Helmet expert but I do like quality stuff and I really was again pleasantly surprised how striking the helmet is. It's not metal but it looks and almost feels like metal. It's solid but I'm not sure how solid if you were going to wear it. And it does not come wearable. It has a foam pad at the top but besides that when you wear it is is basically a bobble-head. I think it's a better build for display then to wear unless you really strengthen and and upgrade it. It feels heavy but in some ways delicate.
I didn't read the whole thread but I think I see the sort of vertical crease in the brow. It's not as bad as I thought it might be and at first I didn't think it was there. It depends on the light. It is there but it is very slight. For display it would be invisible or slightly visible depending on how it is lit. For a mass produced item I think the paint job is pretty nice. Over all I think it is better than the latest EFX Vader helmets

After holding onto mine for 10 days, the lovely UK customs have decided to charge me £121.40 Pounds Sterling on my helmet that has arrived in the UK from BAIT. Damn. It's been a long time since I got hit with such a big import bill. Hopefully my helmet will be delivered tomorrow or Friday after I've paid the fee. For those who are intrigued, here's how they justify that fee:Customs Duty: £45.90.
Import VAT: £63.50.
Clearance Fee: £12.00.
And here it is.
It certainly is not perfect, but I love it.
It will be perfect for display.

The « old » MR looks good but since it is a PP3 (if I am not mistaken) with an ESB paintjob, it is less accurate.
It is sad we don’t have a « Legend » version of this available since EFX directly mold the hero helmet. But I would be a bit shocked if they continue to offer new stuff instead of working for their customer waiting for old order.
After the initial helmet done up for the Supertrooper roll-out, the other five were done identically. It's unclear if they modified existing helmets, or altered the mold, but They ended up with the identical dent in the identical place. The rest was paint apps. LFL gave MR the PP3 -- which, to be fair, does look almost exactly like the ESB Hero -- to master the paint apps for their replica. But the guy they brought in to do the master knows his Fett helmets, pointed out the differences, and told them they had the PP3. MR told LFL, who refused to accept they'd made a mistake and insisted that was the ESB Hero, even after the differences were pointed out. So MR shrugged and released a replica of the PP3.
I know people who are perfectly happy with that state of affairs, as they're doing that version of the costume, or are doing a lineup of all six Boba buckets, and that saves them the trouble of researching, masking, and painting an accurate PP3... But yeah, it's no ESB.

I'd love to know why the colours on the Master Replicas helmet are so different to the more accurate colours on the efx. Was the PP3 really painted in different colours?

Although the painter of the Master Replicas paint master did a good job, his colors were not based on direct color matches. Furthermore the colors that came from China on the production versions were not very good matches for the paint master.
The colors for the EFX were mixed at the archives. They represent pretty closely to the colors used on the original ESB helmet are before weathering. Since China doesnt really do subtle misting coats to tone it down, its a bit brighter than the real ESB but gives a great effect.
The PP3 and ESB helmets were painted with the same batch of paint but there are differences due to weathering coats. The PP3 is a bit warmer tone overall.
