EFX PCR boba helmet

Although the painter of the Master Replicas paint master did a good job, his colors were not based on direct color matches.
I thought he'd matched the original Floquil and PollySale paints used by Joe Johnston when painting those two helmets. The helmets themselves have faded after weathering and decades in the Archives, but I trust his research.

I dont believe he was given any color info from MR that they gathered from the PP3 helmet. If he did, it would have been Pantones which we all know is a system only as good as the conditions and opinion of the person taking them. Fett is Very hard to find good Pantones for. Not knocking the work, I said he did a good job. But there is a big difference between in person mixing and matching and going from pictures or 2nd hand Pantones.
Whatever the reasons, the MR production helmet fell a bit short in the color accuracy dept but its still a great piece.
The EFX has surpassed it by merits of more accurate ESB shape, and colors. But thats just my opinion.

 After holding onto mine for 10 days, the lovely UK customs have decided to charge me £121.40 Pounds Sterling on my helmet that has arrived in the UK from BAIT. Damn. It's been a long time since I got hit with such a big import bill. Hopefully my helmet will be delivered tomorrow or Friday after I've paid the fee. For those who are intrigued, here's how they justify that fee:

Customs Duty: £45.90.
Import VAT: £63.50.
Clearance Fee: £12.00.

That’s just not fair...

Thanks for the explanation. Glad that the efx is a lot closer to being the correct colour. Mine is being delivered tomorrow. I saw the original hero ESB helmet many times when it was displayed at The Art of Star Wars exhibition here in the UK so I'm really interested to see how close they got it (colour wise).

Although the painter of the Master Replicas paint master did a good job, his colors were not based on direct color matches. Furthermore the colors that came from China on the production versions were not very good matches for the paint master.

The colors for the EFX were mixed at the archives. They represent pretty closely to the colors used on the original ESB helmet are before weathering. Since China doesnt really do subtle misting coats to tone it down, its a bit brighter than the real ESB but gives a great effect.

The PP3 and ESB helmets were painted with the same batch of paint but there are differences due to weathering coats. The PP3 is a bit warmer tone overall.

I do remember whoever posted the pic pointed out that the MR has the corrected mandible to get rid of the pinched visor.

I was surprised and pleased when my EFX arrived this week to find there are several physical gouges and scrapes on the helmet..mainly on and around the mandibles.

Here's another comparison posted by Jaycepticon on Facebook. If I need to remove it, let me know.
MR on left, EFX in middle and FPH2 on right.

Got my ship notification a couple days ago. Supposed to arrive tomorrow. Looks like I didn't have to wait as long as I thought. Really looking forward to opening it up tomorrow.

First EFX purchase. I think it arrived in 2 days.

Anyone having issues displaying the helmet with it leaning to one side due to the view finder weight? I noted the EFX stands are capped with a disc, and not a sphere. Is that the trick?

There's always a little play with balance when displaying a helmet. I put a black knit cap on my sphere to give some grip so I can place it how I like. Works great.

Got it today. I'll just say what everyone else has. It's a great piece. The gaps and stress marks are hardly noticeable. The paint job is great. Overall, I'm very happy with it.

How much did it work out at including price of the helmet?
Thinking of ordering through Ebay seller that adds on customs charges through Global Shipping Program (£94), so total landed in the UK would work out at £466 (approx $610).

I found the helmet available on Amazon Prime, sold directly by Amazon. The only problem is the expected arrival for it is April.

I didn't find it on prime. I saw the Hasbro listed though.
Anyway, its in stock at EFX. I ordered and had it 3 business days later. You should be safe as long as its in stock.

It comes up when you search for "precision crafted replica" or filter from price high - low.

Waiting patiently for mine from Sideshow. I had reward points stockpiled from their past Spooktacular and Nerdsgiving events; which covered my taxes and shipping and $25 off the helmet to boot! :)
