I came home from a brutal day at work to find this on my porch. The box was smaller than I expected.

It comes nicely wrapped in white tissue paper.

The box is plain but classy looking.

They could have picked a better picture of Obi-Wan. :cool

The hilt and stand are both wrapped in paper with plenty of styofoam around it.

The stand is made of aluminum.

The red button and valve are metal. The O-ring is real.

It's not perfect and I have a feeling some people will be unhappy with the overall finish. The paint isn't perfect in a few spots and there are some surface scratches on the black areas. However, for $110 shipped, I think it's a pretty nice replica and is the cheapest "official" Obi-Wan Episode 1 replica you'll probably ever get.

That actually looks pretty good for someone on a budget (like me) but would still like a fairly decent replica of this prop. On the emitter where it says "Made in China", is that just a sticker that can be removed?

Yes, it's the same little clear sticker that is found on most items made in China.

The more I handle it, the more I like it.

Like:
- The weight/feel. It has a good heft to it. Definitely doesn't feel like a resin replica. It is also cool to the touch and if you tap it has a more metallic sound than resin (metal dust mixed in the resin?)

- Paint. The paint where it is done well is done amazingly well.

- Accents. The metal button and valve, and the real O-ring are a nice touch. Maybe it's because of these features that MSRP is $10 more than the other Precision Stunt replicas.

- Cost. At $109.99 with free shipping from Redford Films, it's $415 (!!!) less than the MR EE. The only other "official" Obi-Wan Kenobi E1 replica ever released. That's a LOT of money. I would have bought it regardless of price but it's a hell of a deal. I might buy another one to see if I can take it apart to refinish (chrome plating would look amazing on this!)

To answer the original question...and the follow up question... it's painted resin. A Google search might have served you well in those 17 minutes you were waiting.

I'm now thinking that I"m a horrible person, because, I too saw both questions, then IMMEDIATELY looked at the post count before I decided to ignore them. Not very welcoming on my part, I must admit.:unsure

It`s not a bad looking prop, for 110 shipped who cares what anyone else thinks. as long as the owner enjoys it likes the end product that's pretty much all that matters.. all three look sweet.

To keep this on topic, supposedly there's a chromed EP II version happening at some point. Does anyone know when that's coming out? This looks pretty solid, but a chrome finish would put it over the top.
