Efx booth from Comic-con (Obi ANH, SS X-Wing, RM Vader)

The extreme edition. :lol Its a nice saber, don't get me wrong, just the name makes me laugh.
The clone helmet's nice too. I hope its decently priced.

That ANH obi is totaly not doing it for me. :(

Me either. But who cares. Thanks russrep!:thumbsup

But in all serisousness, it does look like they are making an effort. I think it has definitely come to the point where folks are ignoring accuracy for a chance to be different or creative. I'm all for the guts on the inside. It definitely adds an other world quality, especially considering that most hilts do nothing at all. Now all they need to do is redesign the frag body and emitter.:lol

I have to agree on the Obi. When I first saw it I thought 'great another Obi ANH", but I have to admit I love the insides. The name is aweful too. Extreme is a word that should be removed from the English language.

Disappointed in the preview of the clone helmet. Not what I was expecting.

What were you expecting? That looks pretty nice to me. Mind you, this is their prototype, and the production model will vary slightly.

It follows the same direction as the ROTS helmet, it is idealized for the market. Dont expect the collar. It will have a big hole in the bottom, just like the ROTS.

Although, IMHO the ear hole should be a little higher.

The windvane on the Obi looks to be based on Chen's version from years ago - the angle at the base of the blades and blade thicknesses.
There seems to be a thicker area beyond the ring of holes, leading up to the emitter face, and the frag body's grooves seem very shallow and narrow.
I would've put a crystal in the emitter as it's very plain in there for an 'Extreme' edition.
There are a few other areas I'd tweak - the gap between the endcap and the pommel edge while accurate to the found part, looks strange considering all other Obi saber featuring this pommel design do not have that gap. A flush fit would have suited better I think.
On the whole I think the Obi looks really interesting, but it kinda points to the belief Lucasfilm doesn't have any more reference material than we do.:cry
I like the way they've made the interior mechanisms smaller as they run through the clamp, but I would like to have seem metal in there.
It would have been good to see a few lenses in there, even if they were just plastic - as these things (the way I see them, anyhow) focus light and energy.
It just doesn't look, well 'Star Wars' to me - it's a modern toy interior and too generic, and it doesn't complement the sheer beauty of the design we all know so well and love.
But hey - everyone has their own take on things. I guess this is what George likes.

The X looks really spot on - although I'm no SS expert.
Just wish they'd make these available unpainted like the proto in the pics.

I thought the parts used as reference for the Obi-Wan came from somebody who makes prop sabers in this community. I heard the pommel breaks down into 3 pieces just like the real sink knob...same with the emitter...etc. not sure though can't remember were I read that....
