DRIVE (2011) Scorpion Satin Jacket

Honestly, you would have to be a ******* to wear this out in public! Give it time and the thrill of the movies will die down and in time you will laugh at the idea that you were entertaining wearing such a ridiculous thing.

I don't believe you 'get' this forum.:rolleyes

I probably won't get to do a proper photo shoot until these start shipping out (my own sample for photography is not the priority at the moment).

So this is for everyone that is waiting for the Magnoli version. I'm trying to get an idea as for what a good body length and sleeve length would be on a 6'2" 180lb frame. I've been thinking 25 1/2" for the back measurement to keep it a shorter jacket.

If anyone that has a replica jacket already and wouldn't mind posting a few measurements, that would be appreciated.

I'm currently 6'2" and 87kg, so basically the same build. My Steady jacket is 27" long and it fits great! Not too short in the body nor is it too long. It runs a bit big across the chest but I thought I'd better go with the L because I needed some room to grow into. I guess the fit of Indy's should be fairly similar due to it being a replica of the same jacket.

It's all good brotha, I'll be sure to do a whole drive inspired photo shoot as soon I I get my paws on this bad boy. Thanks for the update :)

Found a UK based company making jackets who are selling on eBay for £100.

There are number of inaccuracies with the jacket shape and the collar/cuffs look black on the standard jacket. This despite the brown version having brown cuffs so they obviously had the material available. Scorpion design is also out of shape and looks to be a single shade.

They are doing a range of colour combinations.

It is really difficult to see the exact colour of the satin used in the various replica jackets in photographs. The colour of the Steady jacket is much richer when seen in person.

In the pics on Indy's site the material looks very silver and is described as white. Will be interesting to see whether the Indy jacket replicates the unusual ivory colour.

I'm really interested to see the Indy jacket and how accurate it will be to the original. I still have the feeling that the colours, shape and scorpion on the Steady jacket will be more screen accurate as they had the original to copy from. Just wish that they had used better material for the cuffs, upped the build quality and just charged an extra $50.

Although the Indy jacket may not be exactly screen accurate with the jacket shape, material colour, scorpion shape/thread patterns/colour it sounds from people who have bought from him before that the quality will far surpass that of the Steady version. I'm excited to see it and I haven't even ordered one yet.

Hows everybody's outfit so far? I followed some advice on here and went to H&M to look for some Henley's. I did manage to find one of those Logg henleys but no short sleeves. Anyway I emailed the people who provided the shirts for the movie (apparently all they had in stock was bought by the film people). Old news but they referred me to here:

Somebody earlier also linked this site here. Well I decided to buy it. $129 is a lot for a shirt so hopefully it turned out to be a good decision. I could have used that money to buy a pair of gloves or the boots. Completing this outfit is damn expensive.

Not a bad shirt either but I'm not liking the shortness of the sleeves. I guess you really would'nt even notice if you were wearing a jacket. Nice find man. I just got my third vintage levis jacket and this is the one! An exact match and it fits! Winning* The key feature of the jacket that gave it away was the length of the slits on the cuff. The majority of levis have a short slit on the cuffs but this one has an extra long slit. Sounds kinky. The drive levis is a vintage 50's type III jacket.

The LVC henley actually has a sort of slub shoulder, so it rides down. The arms hit, at least on my shirt(in a small, I'm 6ft 160 lbs) mid bicep. They aren't that short by any means.

Damn you bought a small? With those measurements, I would have bought at least a medium or maybe go for a large. Was Small the only size they had? Well at least I won't be too worried about the short sleeve. It did look small in the picture but it was also pretty small on Ryan Gosling as well. The sleeve was up to his bicep (as you also mentioned).

I never noticed the long slit in the movie but to be honest, I didn't really look into his jean jacket. All I know is that he had a slim Levi's trucker jacket.

I'm doing the whole get up down to the very last detail in all screen matched or original pieces. I've closely researched every worn piece to get the I'd love to add something screen used to the set at some stage. Anybody?

I'm pretty thin, and like my clothes fitted. The small fit how I wanted. It wasn't skin tight at all anywhere, and it hit in the right spots waist wise etc. The medium would have been a bit too big. The measurements are a bit deceiving that are posted on the unionmade site.

This is a small here, and this is pretty much how it fits on me. Maybe a bit more snug across the chest, but not by much, and not close to Gosling.
