DRIVE (2011) Scorpion Satin Jacket

Well the lot certainly was not cheap..lol

My understanding is movie watches were indeed made by Patek Philippe - maybe using different materials, so these wouldn't cost what an actual "store bought" one would cost..as these were to be worn during action sequences..it wouldn't make sense to destroy an expensive one.

Also not very clear in the photos but movie watches were also deliberatly weathered to look old and well used. I was able to closely examine 2 x screen used ones..and they were very similarly distressed with only minor differences.
Is it a quartz movement or mechanical? When they had them on The Golden Closet, they seemed unsure if the watches actually ran. I wish I purchased one now, and sucked on the cost.

My friend found some really excellent sunglasses at Urban outfitters. They are very close to the Money 2.

Maybe I'm missing something but that jacket looks so easy to replicate? Why is it taking so long. My husband like that jacket... I though it was UGLY.

But whatever floats your fantsy. I read the first few pages of the thread and skipped to the back. What seams to be the hold up? If there is anything I can do to help I would be glade to do. I can digitize embroidery designs and such if you need it :)

Sorry about the delays on the watch interest, I was at Disney for a week or so... Anyway! The guy has unfortunately still not gotten back to me multiple emails... I'm still looking... Anyways, has anyone else gotten the gloves? I'm thinking about pulling the trigger this week as I am trying to get a new car this weekend. Do you guys wear them while driving? How does it feel? Which is the color used more in the movie? I'm confused if it's the darker one or the lighter brown.. The ones with the picture of Gosling with the henley and Money 2's looks like the dark brown one. Which do you guys like better?

Get them. I wear them every time I drive. They feel great. Order them about a size or two smaller than your normal size because they run really big. They use the London Tan the most throughout the film. I think the only scene where he uses the lighter gloves is the scene at the race track. The dark ones go with the brown trim on the jacket too.

Good luck on the watch, I've got my eye on it.

Hey benhs1898 thanks for the advice on the boots. I contacted the place where I purchased them and exchanged them, a smaller pair is on its way!

And a couple of weeks ago I got the acne max jeans they do fit a little tight but I slept in them and wore them the whole first week I got em and they fit great definitely my favorite pair of jeans right now. I've also been wearing them with my lvc trucker jacket, my money 2s and some henleys I've had for awhile from jcrew definitley a great everyday look, get some copliments and stares. I've been looking to tailor the arms of the trucker jacket though I've finally found a place that's only a few blocks away from my homee hopefully I get that done soon and I get some photos once I get someone to take them.

I've also been waiting to purchase a pair of the gaspar gloves hopefully the fit isn't too big of an issue for me.. does anyone else have a pair? it would be great to see some more photos of them, I bet they look great once you break them in.

I still recommend ordering small. I usually wear an 8 but somehow their 8 fits like a 9. Remember, you want a good, tight, fit. The leather will stretch to your hand.

Forgot to mention, Urban Outfitters has a really good alternative for the sunglasses.

BTW

Has anyone with the Steady Jacket had any problems with the durability of the jacket? I was just curious to hear how they are holding up to regular use.

Wear my Steady jacket most weekends, seems to be holding up well. I am quite careful with it though as I do want it to last.

Got a couple of stains on it but they have cleaned off surprisingly easily.

My main concern with it is the possibility that the brown cuffs and waist band may get over stretched and look saggy. The fine ribbing does not bother me as much as how thin the material is.

Saying that, if the material is too thick it would look out of place on the jacket as it is lightweight.

My jacket is a first generation. Not sure whether the brown material is any thicker on the second Steady version which has a wider rib in the material.

Does not seem to be any actual picture of the celebsclothing jacket on their site yet. Still shots of the screen used jacket.

Found some more pics of the Italian version of the jacket and the gloves they have produced.

ugh the gloves:sick

the jacket looks ok though.

They did the side gussets wrong.

you're right, didn't pick up on that.

On a side note,

I'm really pissed at Daddy O's. I ordered the jacket late january, they told me that I would have it by the end of february. Then, there was an issue with get go retro, so they told me late april. Now last week I came back from vacation and saw that I had received an email from them.

They had increased the shipping quote from $10 and told me I had 1 week to reply to say it was ok.

I came back from my vacation and saw that email and immediately replied that it was ok. They told me that all the jackets were sold out and that I had to wait til july....

WOW...seriously, they didn't even offer me a discount or anything. I know that I should've check my email during my vacation. However, when you get an order confirmation, you don't expect a second one.:angry

So I ordered the 6th run from Steady Co. March 1st... received April 17th... I was really looking forward to having it... Honestly, not worth it... Stitching did not match up on some areas and the brown parts (cuffs and trim) cheapy materials. I was thinking of having new material sewed in... not worth it... So I returned it to there warehouse today...

Counting on you INDY... cant wait to see what's cook'n

Woohoo! Just won a pair of acne jeans on the bay. Meaning I know have both jackets and jeans. With a close-ish vintage watch probably lost in the mail. Grrr at foreign postal services. Next up gaspar mittens and SA boots!

Honestly, you would have to be a ******* to wear this out in public! Give it time and the thrill of the movies will die down and in time you will laugh at the idea that you were entertaining wearing such a ridiculous thing.
