Hey guys, I know technically this is a thread for the scorpion jacket and I should be posting comments regarding the jacket. But hey! This thread was corrupted long ago, really it's now more of a Drive replica prop thread more than anything. So Dorian's awsome LA cap idea inspired me to try and track down that clippers hat. So far I've turned up trumps with the exclusion of a few good pics of the screen used cap. Probably a custom made job like most of the drivers get up is. Cap itself is manufactured by Lids in Regal Blue. So I've decided to follow Dorian's lead and get one made up instead. I won't be doing a run of these just one or two for myself. I just though it'd be more fun to share. Here's where I am currently at with the design. Logo all drawn up and I've got a lead on blank caps. All I need now is to find somewhere that can embroider the deisgn onto them!

Here's my photoshoped design. It looks really crappy shrunk down to size and I spent a whole day getting the embroidery just right too.

I'm planning on doing a complete SA costume down to the boots and all. Might take a while to get there and I'm definately going to have to compromise on the Patek Philippe timepiece, but it's going to be pretty rad!

Here, in Canada anyway, Lids does not carry the real cap.. they have kinda of a blue purple kind of blue.. also not the proper fabric.. On the top of that you can't get the same font as the original.. The closest font they have is called Moxie...

I beleive the proper cap is Yupoong Flexfit: 63% Polyester, 34% Cotton and 3% spandex. The color is called Royal.

I found one in Germany and got the moxie font stiching done at lids in Montreal but they screwed it up and had to order a new one online and will have to have it done again.. this is take 3! hope its gonna workout this time

If anyone is interested in coloring their boots I bought Tarrago color dye. Here is the link
Tarrago Color Dye - 0.8 oz.
I chose the color sponge #2. you will need to get extra leather preparer because the bottle that comes with the dye is to small to strip the color from 2 boots. Get some leather conditioner to soften and hydrate the leather after you let the new dye dry for 5 hours. It will make sure that the new color will not chip or crack. Of course you will also need to have some soft rags and something rough like "Scotch Brite" to take the white color off.
Some tips when you apply the dye.
-Make sure that no part of the boots look shiny after you use the preparer.
-when you apply the last coat of color, use the sponge so you don't have streaks. and make sure to stir the dye because it does settle fast.
 
I searched both their stockists in UK USA and somewhere else but I forget. I couldn't find any of their listed stockist that actually had any in stock on their online stores. I think the raw material looks a lot more accurate than the plain white henley. Would love one of these for my costume!

Whoohoo! Just got me an accurate vintage levis 60's big E trucker jacket . The pocketless kind just like gosling wore on set. Now onto the boots and gloves.

Here's the denim I just won on the bay. I am very confident in saying this is the same as the vintage hero jacket worn by the Gos. Vintage 60's 2 pocket big E with the same stiching across the breast, looks pretty damn close. Can't wait to try her on, sounds kinky! :love

My custom made gloves from Gaspar are on the way! FedEx tracking says they will arrive tomorrow. I hope so. :love

And my jacket from GetRetro is now 5 weeks on it's way to Germany... :confused
That's bad luck. The last time I bought something in the USA it took only 2 weeks with USPS. Hope it will arrive soon, too.

Its shows the exact henley he wore a vintage 1930s "Williams" henley.
They got there information from one of the lead wardrobe people for Drive.
Apparently they're only available at misterfreedom in Los Angeles I checked out the mister freedom site and I can't find them on there, but I'll keep trying.

I also thought maybe the photos can help indy out?
 
Yeah, I think it popped up WAAAAY back toward the beginning. The exact type of shirt is being produced currently by Merz B. Schwanen. Indy is already looking into it. There are a few good photos on the Schwanen site.
 
I hear you Benny boy! I'm still looking for one myself. I actually prefer the look of the Williams t to the Racket shirt also.

I know that the watch isn't a Calatrava and is in fact a replica Geneve Sub Second 2207 serial base. I still haven't been able to find an accurate replica or even one with a similar dail. They've said that the night glow hands were custom made perhaps the watch face is too?
