DRIVE (2011) Scorpion Satin Jacket

Ok, to help some peeps out, i took measurements of a satin souvenir jacket I have. No, keep in mind that my jacket is not quilted and therefore substantially lighter in terms of weight than the screen jacket.

so, the jacket I have is has correlating measurements of both the Xsmall and the Small. I would lean more towards small. I know, this isnt as accruate as a final product but I think my jacket is really close in terms of fit...Anyway, just thought I would throw this out there for people to see.

And, BTW Carey Muligan is 5'7. So, i just find it kinda hard to believe Gosling is only 5'9...

^lol he is like more then a whole head taller then her in that picture. but yea its the boots that make him that tall...smh its funny that you keep insisting that he's short but that picture right there is proof he is not. take away the boots and he's still a head taller then Mulligan who is 5'7. Post the picture that you took with Gosling corso.

ReturningSon, what size is that quilted jacket? The measurements on that jacket of yours matches the XS/S Scorpion Jacket but you're 5'9 in terms of height. I'm 5'3 and I ordered the XS. Now I'm worried that the jacket will be bigger than what I usually wear (size Small)

Mines not quilted. It's a vintage jaket and it's actually marked as a "medium". I usually wear smalls and sometimes medium depending on the cut,..

I think you'll be fine, just have it tailored if it's too big.

I hope the seams of the diamond patterns will go on top of this scorpion otherwise this jacket will look kinda cheap and it won't have that vintage feeling. And it it don't maybe my tailor will be able do it but its not 100%
I'm still waiting for email from Steady.

I hope you get that email soon because if this sells out and then I find that everything is all good, I will be the opposite of happy.

Just grab one and if you don't like it, you can always return it. I hope this jacket won't look too cheap but judging from that photo above it doesn't look vintage at all so far. Maybe they will do something like putting diamond seams on top of scorpion but then again this is just $159 jacket. I'm wondering how well they will recreate it.

^ Yeah, that's probably what I'll do. It's just that the scorpion really doesn't look finished. Like they've still got another layer of stitching to do with a darker gold to give the scorpion a more three-dimensional look.

And I'm all for paying lots for proper bespoke stuff, but I don't know if $160 warrants a just before it. I know Magnoli charges even more but I guess I don't know precisely what goes into creating such an item and how much greater the quality of the materials would be if the jacket were made by Magnoli or High Society to effectively render $160 a bargain of sorts.

Good point Murkurial! Maybe scorpion in that picture isn't quite finished. And yeah we don't know how Magnoli's jacket will look like but hey, there is a chance Steady will do a good job.
Perhaps we are overanalyzing that whole thing.

I thought that was obvious? That's clearly nothing close to the actual scorpion. I mean, even if they were making it as poorly as possible, they'd still get the scorpion color right.

That's a gross overestimation of the average license-holder's competency and attention to detail.

While I totally agree with you on that one, alot of the discussion is being based on unsubstantiated theories based on production samples. We still have not seen a final product. So, until we do, everything said must be taken with a grain of salt. I, for one, am not giving up hope. Looking at the materials and the quality as seen in the pics, i think this jacket may just surprise everyone...
