ok, some more information.
Got in touch with Richard Lim. The design (moreover, the scorpion) has been copyrighted. Like a fellow poster, I was told to get into contact with Erin Benach. She needs to give the "go ahead" to Lim and his associates to custom tailor a jacket with the scorpion design. I assume, she has sold the design to steady clothing and therefore cannot legally infringe on that company's rights by allowing an authorized reproduction done by some other maker.
Anyway, Lim did say that they might be able to produce the satin jacket, based off of the original patterns, etc just without the scorpion design on the back, for $550. The scorpion design embroidery (or another creature) is an extra $300 but again, they dont know if they are allowed to do it.
I am going to get in touch with the costume designer and see if Lim can produce his own copies with, or without the design on the back..
I know, most of you are like "why do I want a quilted satin jacket without the scorpion on the back"...This jacket is actually very nice and not as "outlandish" in terms of design and practical wear. Its just that scorpion on the back that kinda puts it over the top.
Anyway, I will let you guys know what Benach says...
