DRIVE (2011) Scorpion Satin Jacket

What I'm getting at, is I am considering taking it my local cobbler to repair them, and want to know if they have the exact dye or what brand should I purchase? I'm just afraid to ruin them or make them different since I have the real authentic Taupe Madisons. I'm afraid when he repairs and re-paints them they won't be like they were... :wacko

The taupe Madisons look great! I really wish they were available. I am a fan of the white ones but it would be fun just to have a pair of taupe shoes.

Yeah, it's a real shame Stacy Adams discontinued them. I don't understand for the life of me why?! They say because it was a poor seller...but really? They still produce it in the shoe version, so why not just keep the boot?
I do like the white, but I really can't pull it off. It's too much for everyday wear. I've never looked good in white shoes.. lol.. The Taupe at least are near beige or off-white enough that it's passable. Mine are really worn down though..almost like severely faded grey pair. Oddly enough I get more compliments on my black Madisons than my Taupe. Weird. :unsure

I do like the black ones. Basically all of them. It's just a beautiful shoe design. I get loads of compliments on my white ones. Dress boots are coming back in anyway and there are no better ones than the Madison, in my opinion.

My madisons have cracked really badly, right where the shoe bends for the toes. I love the shape and look of these boots but I feel unsure about getting another pair if they're just going to crack again, never had this happen with a pair of leather boots before

First, Really nice jacket man! I have been wearing levis truckers since preschool.

I would try to contact Stacy Adams to see what dye they used because it is going to be hard to match colors. A cobbler might have an idea of how to find out but it is so hard to find true artisans to crafts like this now a days. I think it is always safe to be able to offer the right materials to someone before they repair or change your stuff.

I used the rubbing alcohol and sandpaper on my gray pair, to give them the worn out look. I also used nail polish remover. Worked pretty well.

Yeah those will work, but some of those leather paint stripping solutions make life a lot easier. I was working for an hour or so on one boot with rubbing alcohol when the leather prepare only took me a half hour. But use what works for you.

Yea..unfortunately as cool as these boots are...they don't last as they should for the price point. I would say constriction of the newer pairs are not nearly as good as they used to be. As I understand they were originally USA made and now are made in India. No dig there, but if you look up reviews on the the current Madisons it is NOT very favorable. Many state within months theirs are cracking, breaking...separating from the sole...etc..

Thanks man! I will try and upload some more picts later. It IS actually pretty spot on. It is a bit more blue wash than that picture picked up. I would say near accurate to Gosling's screen worn.

Agreed. That's what I was nervous about. I mean, I may just keep them as they are, since they are UBER rare I don't want to take the chance of ruining the real deal.

A few more pix for those who asked. Apologies for the lighting and angle. etc..
The top photo is the best in terms of capturing the actual color.

did you end up having the arms tailored on that jacket of yours? by the way it looks mint man. you find that on the bay or what? Sheesh what a steal.

Hey doctor love your jacket. Can you tell us the model number on the tag? Really curious.

I bought a levi's denim jacket, not quite the right colour but I chose it because it had a bigger collar than on other levi's around.

I had the arms tailored and an extra button added on the cuff so I could do it up almost like a shirt cuff, very fitted.

Hey guys, ok so about the trucker jacket.
@ Drivr - Thanks! Actually the story on this one is crazy. I actually found it at one of these stores where wardrobe from film and tv productions are sold. I did not have the sleeves done. They were already tailored that slim when I found it, as I know there is no Levis jacket with sleeves that slim like a shirt, it was obviously done for some actor... Oddly enough I found it a few months after DRIVE had come out and was pretty excited since I was starting to put the outfit together for Halloween, as the actual Scorpion jacket from Steady was just getting underway and wasn't shipping till after Halloween (if anyone here remembers) . I had to be "Denim tuxedo" Driver..LOL.. So yeah, long story short that's how I found this bad boy.

@kboy- thanks! Well, unfortunately there is no tag with the model number or style name. The only thing is the brown tag with nothing but the Levis "wagon" logo at the bottom of the tag. I am not sure from which style it's from. It does have a more slim fit than any other Levis trucker I have seen or tried on before. But again, it could be that it was tailored for whatever actor wore it.
