As Dragoncon 2016 has just ended, we all are sad.
It's always hard leaving a con that you have had a blast at....​

We all worked so hard on our costumes and we all already have ideas for next year!...
So with that, lets start talking about everyone's ideas for next year...​

We would like to personally thank everyone that took the time to show up to:
The 3rd Annual RPF meet at Dragoncon in 2016.



It was great turn out for our 3rd meet, and it was wonderful
to be able to see old friends as well as make new ones.

We hope that all of you are able to attend again this year,
as well as we hope to meet so many more new friends in the future.​

We will be having another RPF meetup in 2017,
and we will be designing a new custom badge as well.

For new attendees:
The RPF Meet is a meet a greet, it is to meet fellow members of the RPF,
and talk about our loves, costumes, props, etc. Please feel free to come in costume,
or bring something that your working on to the meetup.

If you plan on attending the RPF Meetup:
Please simply post on this forum saying "I'm attending the meetup".
If something happens where your not able to attend,
please let us know that you will not be able to attend the meetup.

For this years meetup I'll be putting together a website. The website will include the following features:

1. Photo galleries of previous meetups so that fellow RPF members can download their images ( eventualy)
2. A form to fill out for requesting a badge so @MatrixSpoon and I can keep better track of badge info and avatars
3. A blog that anyone is welcome to submit articles too, so that we can post about our DragonCon experiences etc.

I'll have the site finished by end of Sept, so for now please wait on submitting any avatars for badges as the site will allow you all to submit that info once the site is live.

Was great to see everyone this year, and I already know what my new costume will be for 2017. My biggest build yet, can't wait to share what it is once I get it started and have some pics.

Has anyone found out what was wrong with the Marriott's Ac yet?...The Hyatt and Hilton Ac's were clearly working almost cold when walking in from the Marriott due to all the sweating...

When leaving the Marriot and walking into the habitrail, or walk bridge, or sky bridge or whatever you cal it - to go to the Hyatt. The AC was great as soon as you walked into the hallway. The Marriot's AC was crap.

I didn't make it to the 2016 edition,nor did I have a costume ready ~ so sorry.
At this point I cannot and will not promise anything for 2017,however at some point in time I most definitely wish to attend the RPF meeting at DragonCon,that would be great.

Exactly. Walk of Fame was ok down there but anything higher, forget about it. I think outside was cooler in some spots.

For those of you that have stayed in a host hotel I'm looking for some info.

I plan on getting a room for next year. I have to, taking Uber back and forth got really old this year. Had a couple odd encounters with Uber drivers this year, nothing major but things like "what is this weird ****?" when getting in the car...and too tired / drunk to explain the awesome that is DC. I just want to be able to go to the room when I'm tired, need a snack or when the anxiety sets in.

So I'm wondering what hotels have you stayed in, what hotel makes you pay the entire stay upfront, and what hotels allow for just a deposit. I'd prefer to book with just a deposit.

I definitely prefer a host hotel to a nearby hotel

I'm setting the goal since Oct is around the corner and I think Marriott is about to open rooms.

Help me understand how this all works. I want to be prepared. And at least try to get a room.

I did notice that lower levels of the Marriott where ok in general.
