Dragoncon 2014

That was cool! The hula hoop cam with the go pro was very creative.

Here's a good one from Tested one of the "Adam Savage incognito" episodes from last year. I was there and saw him and thought "That kinda looks like Adam Savage...na, never mind" then this video came out and I thought "Ha, I knew it!"

And finally have settled on my costume and started working on it. So that's a relief too. The vids have been super motivational.

for some reason your video didn't show up in the post, though I've seen the video your referring to...

I had to click edit and add the video link to my post. Cuzz I forgot to add it the first time.

no problem, it's there now, i edit alot of my stuff...for example, when i was talking to you about the hilts, after i said that...i edited and added a picture, not sure if you saw...also...i sent you a pm...

If anyone is interested, we have a Spider-Man Friends and Foes shoot after the big Marvel one Sunday afternoon. It starts at 5:30 on the steps behind the Hilton. If you are interested in coming out let me know!

So this year will also be my first time at Dragoncon. Is there good places to find out about themed photoshoots? Also what is fun to do there? I've watched a lot of the youtube cosplay videos and wondered what else was fun to do there, what wasn't, just some general advice. If you watch out for my group we will be in X-men cosplay

If it hasn't been answered already, this is probably the most comprehensive list of the shoots:

Otherwise, you'll have to go to different fandom forums to see.

And I'm definitely getting the pre-con feels!

6 months ago I thought I was excited

a month ago I thought I was excited

Chatting with you fine folks in this thread, I got even more excited.

Then this beautiful little blue postcard found it's way into my mailbox and NOW I'M SUPER EXCITED!!!

Also got my messenger bag and new lanyard today too. I'm gonna put a count down timer on my company website. LOL that way my clients will know that I will not be available for 6 days for this event.

oh hey nice, you got one with the new logo on it :)
I'M SUPER EXCITED TOO! Right there with you friend! I really can't wait til I'm walking into the airport and getting on the plane to fly down. But at the same time I kind of can because I'm STILL NOT READY hahahah xD Still so much work to do before then!!
I really should put up a journal come the end of the month on all my art sites letting people know I will not be around, have to remember to do that... *adds to list of bajillion things to do before dragoncon*

I read their page about the updated logo. Pretty cool.

I totally understand the "I can't wait, but can" I still have a costume to finish, and have to make sure that my clients are in a good place before the event. I take 6 days off for the event, a day before for picking up my pass and meeting up with some friends in town, and the day after is my recovery day. LOL.

I'm I glad have just under 6 weeks left so I can finish everything on my list.

Very very interested.... when and where is the big marvel one?

So I just noticed...no on has really posted on here lately...I take it I'm not the only one focused on working on my costumes and thinking of nothing else....ha ha...

I just tend to fire up an album and sew til it's done.

I had an accident at work yesterday and now I'm trying to finish my nuTrek McCoy pants for SDCC (and later DCon). I'll tell you, trying to sew while part of your finger is falling off is really difficult.

Dude...I hope your OK...I take it you wouldn't talk, when they put you in the interrogation room and cut off your finger...Props to you for not giving up...

Ha, interrogation room. I wish you were further off. But no, I was deburring some sheet steel I had just machined with a file, my hand slipped, and my middle finger ran right onto the corner of one of the sharp edges. I didn't even realize until the second time I changed the bandaid that the whole side of my finger was barely hanging on. It's actually recovering very quickly, just not quickly enough that I could wait to sew these damn pants.
