Dragoncon 2014

Hey everyone. Really glad I found this thread.

I'll be attending and looking forward to meeting folks from the RPF at a meet up. Has the venue been chosen, made official? The Vortex would be a cool spot too.

I live in Atlanta, not far from down down. Is anyone still looking for a place to crash? If so let me know. I really can only accommodate 1 maybe two people. I have an apartment and a gaggle of folks would be too much for my place.

Did you find a place Bayouwolf?

Also a bit late I know, but I put together a badge concept for the heck of it. I know you, MatrixSpoon, have been working on badges. Just thought I would share.

Looking at going as a crew member from the Nostromo. That would be fun. Maybe get a face hugger mask to go with it....hmm

Looking forward to meeting folks.

What about when you're making something perfect and it's slow AND expensive? That's basically my wheelhouse these days.

No problem, don't worry about it...

Cool.

On a side note. Has anyone thought of bringing 1 or 2 props from their collection to the meetup for a little show and tell? That would be pretty cool.

Is that too 4th grade of me? LOL I am a big kid after all.

Awesome! I'll bring a couple items, one of which is my first attempt at the Grail Diary. And maybe my Gray's Sports Almanac from BTTF II which is on the way to my house now, I'm terribly excited to add that to my collection.

Even though you can't bring Gizmo (which I would love to see one day, post pics or a video) you should deff bring something.

Obviously your a night owl like me.

I may bring my Darth Vader lightsaber, that I made just like George Lucas made for Star Wars, with a Graflex flash gun...

And no i'm not a night owl...

I'm a vampire...

:lol

Then I must keep Vampire hours.

And I look forward to checking out the saber. I had a Luke ANH saber built with the exact parts from the movie ( Graflex 3 cell, etc) by a friend of mine who used to work for the Star Wars fan club in Denver and it was a prized possession. Joined the Military in 2001 and later wanted my mom to send me boxes of my stuff but "those boxes must have been tossed out, sorry honey" :facepalm

There went the saber. I still love my mom though. LOL

Hey! The sun is out shouldn't you be in your coffin? :D

Yeah, we don't talk about a certain saber, from a certain sons youth while at the dinner table when visiting my moms house.

Nice hilts man!

Being a Vampire, in this day and age, with technology, we have windows that block the suns light out....i made sure to take the trash out before the sun came up...on trash day...

haha...when you see me you should ask me to tell you about my friends saber that he ordered, it's a hilarious story....

New....fang..led technology. Sorry I had to too. Couldn't help myself.

Yeah I'll remind you to talk about the saber story at the meet up.

Still trying to decide my costume. Thinking about Barf from Spaceballs, Nostromo Crew member. Or.....I just don't know. about 6 weeks away. I need to make a decision.

Just gonna drop this here ..... for us crazies getting our costumes ready for this year #dragoncon2014... ;) may it be joyful and motivating -awesome vid covering #dragoncon2013 . Watching this gives me more motivation to finish in time! :)

Cool, I am not the only person who has cosplay music videos on an endless loop.
not in the least my friend! ;D its great for motivating me to keep working on my own stuff, same with watching livestreams of people making things, that helps a lot too. Getting moving to begin with is always the hard part for me so I always turn to my huge stash of youtube favorites list. It definitely helped today, I got a good bit of progress on several pieces!

Your not the only one dear sir...

Thanks for sharing the vid. Even more excited than I was already, and motivated to finish my costume as well.

This is the Video that I saw that started me going to Dragoncon. I still think it's one of the best out of all of them that I've seen and I think I've seen all of them.... And I watch it like at least twice a week, always puts a smile on my face and gets me motivated...Enjoy...
