Doc is looking old!

Call me crazy, but something doesn't seem quite right. If you look close there is a kind of glow around doc once he gets out of the car, especially around his hair, and at 45 seconds to the left of his face something weird happens with the background.

I'm thinking either the smoke was added in digitally, or Christopher Lloyd preformed in front of a green screen and was added after.

Probably the former, not the latter.

To make a time machine possible it needs to cross the barriers of both space and time even if it needs to travel to the same location as its origin.

i.e. If the DeLorean needs to travel to the Courthouse Square in 1955 from 1985, it still needs to consider the Earth's precise coordinates in space as Earth's position in space will be at different point in 30 years.

So by default Doc had to design the circuits so that the DeLorean is equipped to travel to any location on Earth if required, it is just that choosing those locations were never the part of the time circuits and wasn't optional. It was designed to always reach its destination location while matching its origin.

Yes the BTTF Animated Series is not canon, but I would say like in the series Doc would eventually add the option of choosing locations to the time machine.

There's one odd thing about that tape though.

Look closely.

In the first few seconds, look closely at the white billboard, before the flash.

There is nothing around its edges.

Then there's the flash. (Could have been set up behind the billboard).

Then, a split-second later, the car drives up.

Go to that split-second, right after the flask.

The back part of the car suddenly appears behind the billboard, then it drives up.

Remember, two seconds earlier, there was nothing around the billboard.

Could the 'security camera' footage be a publicity stunt ?
