Which paint did you use DiCatania?

Are you talking about oxidization? Can someone tell me why my scope mount gets reddish brown when I try to blue it?
Is it the quality of the steel or just me?
I apply the chemical, wait like a minute or so and then rinse in cold water. And again, and again, and again....
Any suggestions?
Thanks
I get that. The Birchwood Casey can make it oxidize and look rusted. I was trying to understand if that's whats happening with yours? No, Im using Birchwood Casey Perma Blue Liquid Gun Blue.

So, with my BC Super Blue not working on the flash hider, due to a different metal - what's the next best way to give it that "used" look?
If you didn't get the steel kit, the flash hider won't take Super Blue; it needs Aluminium Black if you got the alu/pewter kit.
