Limited Run DL44 ANH Version Blaster Kit

I have Pewter black, aluminum black and another which the latter are from Casey's. So is it better to just take some Rustoleum black spray enamel of the brass parts then take steel wool to it? Do you recommend sanding and priming with self etching primer beforehand?

I think pewter black and brass black are almost the same thing. It will work but personally I prefer the paint, it's easier and closer to how they are found in the wild. Plus cheaper is you don't already have a bottle of pewter/ brass black

Nah, no primer, I just spray and bake. I do cleanup first with mild soap and warm water, then 50/50 water and alcohol

Alternatively, you can also take the brass pieces and put them into a zip bag with oven cleaner. Leave it and check on it every once in a while until it's at the color you want.

There are a lot of things happening right now, there will be another run in a couple of months.

Wow, you did a run just a month ago and I missed it? :(

Still some TFA, I see. Tough call between getting that and waiting for the next ANH. How tough would it be to switch between the two, since they're similar?

So I didn't use paint on the brass since I didn't have any on hand. I used JAX pewter black on the brass and this is how it all came out. All parts have been blued. Forgot to grind the track down but I can live with it.

Here's a question. I too purchased a scope knob. Is the whole thing supposed to turn or just the very top disc? I'm assuming the whole assembly is supposed to turn, however mine is not. Any help would be appreciated.

My top and lower dial turns. Have you taken it completely apart and put it back together?

Both dials should turn, if it is tight just take the bottom knob and lightly rub it on sandpaper to make the fit looser,
make sure the sand paper is on a hard flat surface,
if you are still having a problem email me

Yes, I have. I may have gotten paint in between. I can sand the paint. I just wasn't sure if both knobs were supposed to turn and you answered that for me. Thanks

Mine was actually too loose! Had to add a little strip of tape to increase the friction.

It's lovely work, by the way!

What are people doing with the scope mounting rings? Are they supposed to meet or is there supposed to be a little gap after mounting the scope?
