Thanks! it looks way better in pictures though... By the way, I really love your work on the Iron man helmet.

The GF video is adorable.

Awesome work!

What kind of servo did you use? They are really tiny!

They are spectrum servos... I don't know exactly what model number because I masked them just now to prep the helmet for painting. I'll let you know when I remove the mask.

Re: Diegator's Grey Fox / Cyborg Ninja WIP

So the servos actually make that much noise? That's pretty cool. Gives the whole effect just that much more oomph.

It's much worse when you are wearing the helmet, cause the noise is RIGHT IN YOUR EAR. It's not really loud, just a bit annoying.

Ok, time for an update~!

So, after I was happy with the function of the servos and all, I dismantled the helmet, added some bondo, sanded, primed, sanded, primed, painted, sanded, bondoed, sanded, primered... you get the picture.

Then I added clear coat, and some sweeeeet water slide decals:

Then I had to try it on:

Left to do: re-calibrate servos
install magnets on the neck plate
add electronic components for the red light
make quick-disconect cables between the helmet and the control board.

I'm making some slow progress on the foam build. Convention is March 29th... I'm not sure I'll be done in time :(
I already decided, that if all else fails, I'll wear the helmet with a tuxedo.

Honestly, I'd still call that a net win in my book.

Does the forehead part not move up? It looked like you had hinges there. No matter what, this is totally amazing!

Re: Diegator's Grey Fox / Cyborg Ninja WIP

Dude, If you end up doing a run of these...I would be so down for one. This could also be a kickass dub sub job as well for the rest of the suit to keep things simple.

Re: Diegator's Grey Fox / Cyborg Ninja WIP

I'm 100% in if a run ever comes up. seriously. I've loved the gray fox cyborg ninja since I first played MGS. I think you'd have an overflow of people wanting it :D looks so badass amazing!!! envious of your skills and patience :)

Re: Diegator's Grey Fox / Cyborg Ninja WIP

that is looking so sick!! how did you even get the servos to work! cant wait to see the finished suit!

Re: Diegator's Grey Fox / Cyborg Ninja WIP

Very Awesome! I love the stickers. Did you order those or make them yourself? If you made them, how did you do it?

Re: Diegator's Grey Fox / Cyborg Ninja WIP

Guys (and gals) thank you all for the words of encouragement. It's these types of comments that keep me motivated.
I think I'll re-do the mold as a single piece with the split lines marked instead of making the separate pieces. I'll put up a jy thread once I have something going.
Darkside, I made the decals myself. I printed them on waterslide decal paper for laser printers. Got the idea from pandamajik's thread.
I'll be traveling this week, but I'll post an update when I get back. Got the light wired up and the servos re-calibrated

Re: Diegator's Grey Fox / Cyborg Ninja WIP

Had a great afternoon drinking wine and soldering all the cables

and boy what a nightmare it was.

Sadly, I need to re-position all the plates to get the correct alignment, because I didn't put it together correctly after painting.
