Just one threaded rod. Sometimes the mold gets knocked or the resin cures unevenly and will actually shift the threaded rod. It doesn’t take much of an angle for the rod to end up pressing against the mold walls so it’s visible in the resulting casting. Had the same thing happen in a couple of my Obi TPM stunt sabers.
I’m late to the party. Just now realizing my theory wouldn’t be possible with the deep grooves of the QGJ saber. Very interesting!
exactly! I was surprised at how far down it went, almost down to the pommel. I don't know if the stunt sabers needed a rod that deep, who knows but this is a belt hanger!
All I can say is that Anakin Starkiller has been absolutely killing it behind the scenes. We THINK we have a path forward that will keep this replica highly accurate while still being feasible to produce.
Never a doubt, I was just checking in. I'm like a kid at Christmas when it comes to these kinds of things.
